Our boys right now are sleeping in cotton weight footie PJ's. It is in the lower 40's here at night, but we keep the house temp set at 74. In the mornings, I have noticed their feet and legs are cold, but their body is warm. It's too warm to put them in the fuzzy PJ's just yet unless I cut back the house temp (which I don't want to do). So what can I do about their feet and legs? They move all over at night, so I don't think they would keep a blanket on, and besides, I am paranoid about using more than just a thin flannel blanket. They are 10 months, 21 and 22 lbs each - should I try a heavier blanket?? Put socks on under their footie PJ's?? Is there something I'm not thinking of? It doesn't seem to be bothering how they sleep, so maybe don't worry about it at all?

I would say if they are not waking up, then it obviously isnt bothering them. My guys sleep with blankets, always have. My almost 3 yr old sleeps with his head under the blankets, which he has done since the age of 11 months.

Have you tried sleep sacks? Our babies are only 3 months and we usually swaddle but they started kicking their legs free so they are sometimes completely uncovered at night. We've been trying out sleep sacks this week because I don't want them to get cold. They are working out pretty well. They move their arms around quite a bit while sleeping but I don't think it's bothering them much.

Yes, slep sacks.my girl is very active sleeper. She moves all over the crib. Sleep sack is only our solution. And she loves it

We used to use sleep sacks during the summer when they were in PJ's with no feet.....but it seems silly to put them in sleep sacks on top of footie PJ's. (plus they have outgrown the ones we have, and I hate to spend all that money to buy more, only to switch to the heavier PJ's in a month.....)

I tried putting a light flannel blanket over them last night....it was still on them when I went to bed about 11pm, but I don't know how long they kept them on. Their feet still seemed cool this morning. But again, they slept well, so it must not be too bad I guess....

if the house temp is 74 and they're not waking up I wouldn't worry about it...you may just have warm kids - mine are warm in fact my DD is just like me - she uses her feet to regulate temperature - I can't stand hot feet!

oh you can use some socks.recently I found some white warm socks at walmart. They come 6 pairs/7 bucks or so. They are ankle and stay on very well. My kids are kickers.but they can't never kick off those lol.I have wasted ton of money on socks. Those expensive ones just can't stay on long after 30 mins of kicking

My girl like its 72. My boy is comfortable at 75. So we set 72. They always have those socks on. I totally love those

If you are worried about cold feet, you could always put the socks on before you put the footed pj's on. I can't stand sleeping without socks! Although, since having Annabella it isn't as bad. My feet are usually cold though and that's what wakes me up in the middle of the night.

This is exactly what we did. We always kept our house on the cool side, so I just slipped on some socks and then put on the footed PJ's. I also kept a blanket on them at that age. I had a small blanket that I would tuck up under the mattress so it wouldn't go anywhere.

Thanks, everyone. I think I will try some socks tonight under the footie PJ's. I feel like I am constantly fighting socks to keep them on, but I guess they can't go anywhere under the PJ's. I usually don't even put socks on them during the day unless their feet feel cold, or we are going out.

We've been keeping our house at 68 and dressing the twins in flannel footed pjs - so far so good.

I personally like it when my feet are a little cool because it regulates my entire body. My guys are similar. They actually sleep better when they are in footless pj's and no socks. I do however give them blankets.
