The boys are about 3.5 months old, and we've had them in the same crib since the beginning (even in the same bassinet when they'd fit!). Lately, DH and I have been worried about them waking each other up. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. They sleep best swaddled, so they wake each other up (when it happens) because of crying. When have some of you other co-sleepers put your twinkies in separate cribs? I LOVE having them in the same crib, so I'm a bit reluctant to separate them just yet.

    Thanks!

We just separated ours this weekend in the hopes that it would help them to sleep better because we've been having problems. It didn't seem to make things any worse, but that's about all I can say for it.

I'm curious, too. Mine sleep together for night and I often separate for naps (they have a little more trouble falling asleep in their cribs during the day). Plus, now that their arms are out of the swaddle I am afraid they could hurt eachother (well, really my DH is afraid...I just love them being close).
I hope we can share a crib a little while longer, although it's getting a little crammed in there.

I think I remember our pedi. recommending that they sleep seperately once they could roll over. It's been a while, though. Let me see if I can find something online.

Personally, and this has been a big fight between me and DF, I am not going to seperate them, but they are both good sleepers and rarely wake eachother up... I think its only happened a handful of times and never from screaming, just from Austin rolling on top of Peyton, (He's a cuddler) The only way my boys end up waking up is when I take only one out of the crib, the other notices his brother is gone within 5 minutes and automatically wakes up.....

We finally had to seperate our girls at about 4 months. I think it was more tramatic for my DH and I then for them. They just didn't look right not being in the bed together :)

We seperated ours at 3 months old when they got too big to fit in the bassinet together.

    Hi, we just did this!!

It was hard because my DS would only sleep if swaddled. Well he just started rolling over so I knew I couldn't swaddle him any longer. Then he was RO on his sister and that was bad too. So alas we decided it was time. He loved it, he could roll over on his belly and spread out. DD had a hard time at first because I think she liked being snuggled up with DS. Now, however, they do better and are totally STTN!!! Separating them was the best thing that has ever happened!!

We did it around 3 months because they start scooting and bumping into each other.

My girls are 7.5mo old and still share a crib. And I have no intention of getting a 2nd crib, there has never been an issue (Knock on wood! :p).

it was also MUCH more traumatic for me, i cried about it! i felt like they were going to ask me for the car keys the next day! i don't think i'll ever forget that the first night they slept apart was september 19th!! LOL

We put them in separate cribs last week :( . Personally, I would have let them stay together for much longer, but last Tuesday, I was letting them cry, like they always do when I sensed something was amiss. I went in their room to find Lulu sitting on Greta's chest. The end.

We did it earlier than others who have posted. We did it last week around the 10 weeks. As much as I love them sleeping together one would always end up against the crib slats and would wake up screaming. Once we separated them they started sleeping 6 hours or so at night.
