My girls are finally outgrowing their newborn sleepers at nearly 4 months. Woo hoo! The problem is that nearly all the newborn sleepers are too short, but the 0-3 month clothes are all WAY too big. Is this common or just a problem for my weirdo kids? I remember having the same problem when we moved from preemie to newborn. I guess they'll just have to be swimming in the 0-3 month stuff for a while.

Always a problem for my little guy!

At 4 months (and 2 days) he suddenly outgrew all the newborns - but only in length, they were still baggy because he's so skinny. Now the 0-3s are practically falling off him, but what else am I to put him in? I can't wait for it to be warmer so he can just wear a onesie - those tend to fit him nicer.

This happens with my boys, too. When they were ready to move up to 3-6 month clothes, some of it was way too big. I suspect the same will happen when they're ready for 6-9 months. I also find that a size in one brand isn't necessarily the same size in another brand. Old Navy or Gap, for example, tend to run small, where Carter's or Child of Mine tend to run big. Shouldn't they all be on the same page? I never understood why my dd could be wearing an 18-24 month pair of pants from Old Navy and a 3T t shirt from walmart. They should have universal patterns that they cut their clothes from... anyway, sorry for the ramble, but it sounds like a pretty common problem!

I wish they all had weight/length guidelines on the tag. That would help, I think. A few of ours do, but most don't.

My girls were the same way with the sleepers.

We are stuck in the same spot but between 0-3 and 3-6. Plus we've had a cool week (in Florida) so our longsleeve options in the smaller 3-6 or larger 0-3 clothes are even fewer.

[SIZE=10pt]DD is in the same boat ~ She's 10 months and can still wear 3-6 clothes around the waist and such...but needs 6-9 months for the length ;)

We face this problem everytime we move sizes. Like PP said some clothes run smaller than others. Gerber onesies run true to size and a bit smaller but Carters fit bigger. UGH...so frustrating. But yeah for growing!!!!!!!!!!!

oh gosh....my little boy who isn't even 4 months...6-12 pants are too small for him!!! and the 12 months are just wayyy too long.
Both my little ones wear 6-12 months. My little guy wears 9 month t shirts!

It is crazy. I had all these 0-3 month clothes that they grew out of in a month!!!!!!!!!

I feel that the gerber onesies run small actually....cause a couple weeks ago they were in 6-9 months and they seemed smaller than the gap ones.

My babies mostly wear babygap and american apparel. Their stuff fits my little ones GREAT. Except for jeans.

I'm dealing with the same thing with their 0-3 month stuff and 3-6 month stuff. It's so annoying!

Ugh! This is so true! I bought the twins a pack of Gerber onesies from Wal-Mart in size 3-6. They barely fit!! Now mind you, all of their other 3-6 month stuff is big! I was so irked the first time I put them in one. I feel like I wasted that money.

Here's another vote for some universal sizing standards!! <_< What a pain it can be to dress kids! I have one skinny boy who is too tall for 0-3, but 3-6 is sooo baggy on him. Then I have a chubby boy who can no longer wear 3-6 onesies because they are too tight, yet 3-6 sleepers are too long in the limbs! I just think that finding a perfect fit is a rarity. Unfortunatley it doesn't get better - my DD has a variety of sizes in her closet. I'm buying 5T tops for her for summer, but she can still fit into some 3T bottoms.

Same here for us.. and it was different depending on the brand of clothing. I found that carter's fit (and still fits) the girls pretty well, while osh kosh is HUGE, and gerber sleepers are small. Weird when they are all supposed to be the same size.

It is frustrating trying to dress a baby let-alone 2!!! My boys are almost 5mos. old andwear 12mos!!! Chubby Cubs, I know!!! But Parker is tall and chubby, 12mos. fits him perfect! Paxton on the other hand is short and chubby, so in length the swallow him, but in the waist they fit fine!!!
