Hello all! I hope you mamas can help. I'm looking to buy summer clothes for my Michelle and Nolan. It's easy to buy Nolan' s clothes. He wears 11-18 months. However, I can't fond anything fit Michelle. 12-18 month clothes fit her length but too loose. She would fit in 6-9 month cloths but way too short. She is over 30 inch long and only a bit over 18lbs even she eats drinks sleeps more than her bro. I nick name her Mafia commando lol she is overactive lol. I always have to fix her clothes. I hope there are some brands for skinny tall baby girl. Or I have to get a sewing machine hmmm. Should I just let her wear dresses? I bought her many jeans but she hasn't worn any. They are just too loose on her. If you have any idea please help! Tia!

Dresses and yoga pants underneath in the winter, dresses and shorts in the summer. That's what Alice wore/wears.

The Children's place has long and narrow clothes. Are you in the Northern Hemisphere? If so, summer will be here before you know it and she can wear shorts and capri pants too.

my oldest was like that. We did alot of shorts, capris, bubbles, sundresses etc. With the shorts and capri's I could buy what fit her waist because I didn't need to worry as much about length and with bubble suits you could buy for length because they are suppost to be full around the middle.

Yes adjustable waist and I am another fan of Children's Place! At 2 years old JT was 35.5 inches and a whole 25lbs! Now with potty training I'm having an even harder time bc I've always depended on his diapers to hold his pants up!

I agree with Childrens Place for girls, but for boys I find they run HUGE. Jack is just wearing 2T Childrens Place stuff (and 3T or bigger in everything else--4 years in babyGap.)

My DD is built the same way. We buy pants at gymboree. Their leggings and skinny jeans are great and don't fall off her. Also, adjustable waists are what we swear by. I didn't do very many dresses but when she was 12 months last summer I dressed her in a lot of those little 1 piece rompers. This summer she's a little too old for those outfits :(

ok... so definitely buy anything and everything that has Adjustable Waists... LOVE those!

if you have other outfits, I've done several different things.

#1 take a simple piece of elastic and put it on the inside of the side waist. Maybe take a 2" piece and sew it in a couple of spots about 4" apart and a time or two in the middle... to kinda do a makeshift smaller waist.

#2 just sew a pleat in the front of the pants to take it in.

and yep you can roll the pants down, seems to help make the waist smaller.

My duo wore their 12mo, and 18mo. stuff a long time! especially like pp said, with potty training their little waists are even smaller!

OH, and I think they make some type of "toddler belt"... that loops around the side and back of the pants I can't think what those are called... those are probably more for potty training kids to leave the front available to be opened and shut for going potty... but still might work!

I have this same problem with my girls. If it fits the length of their legs, then you can be sure its way too big in the waist. I have never heard of pants with adjustable waist, I will have to look for those!! Because I can't find pants that fit, my girls mostly wear long sleeved onesies with baby leggings.

adjustable waists... are awesome! you'll see a little button on the inside of the waist on each side, and there's a loop of elastic that has button holes in it so that you can cinch up the waist. genius!
