If i we were having a singleton, i would probably go with disposable, but since there are 2, im leaning more towards cloth partly because of the expense. i have been out trying to price them and am having a hard time finding them anywhere.

So...what are you other mommies going to be using/are using? And any ideas on where to find cloth ones besides a diaper service?

We use cloth diapers, the prefolds plus an outer wrap. We have used Bummis Super Whisper Wrap covers as well as ProRap (ProWrap?) covers and like them both- they have velcro closures and only leak rarely, usually when they have their weekly poop. We also use Snappi fasteners instead of diaper pins. I found all of our supplies on Amazon.com, and we had 2 dozen 5-8# Chinese prefolds and 3 dozen 8-14# prefolds to start with. Be sure to wash them several times before use! I wash diapers about every 3rd day, and it's not bad at all. I also hated the idea of disposables, both for environmental and cost reasons.

There are also all-in-one (AIO) diaper systems, but the cost was too much for us- usually $14-18+ per diaper.

We use disposables when we are going out for a day or traveling, and we use Natural Choice (also from Amazon). They are comparable to Pampers or Huggies in cost when bought in bulk, but use much less petroleum in production and are earth-friendlier.

If cost was not an issue, I would have gone with G-diapers, as they are truly "disposable"- they flush away in the toilet.

    Good luck!

I'm planning on using disposable diapers. for us, it's the difference in me being able to stay home with the babies or having to go back to work. I'd feel silly going back to work for disposable diapers, so I'm going to use cloth! Honestly, though, my mom used cloth with all of us, including my little bro. I remember helping her with diaper laundry and often doing it myself, so I'm not too intimidated by the idea.

while we're on this topic.....where would i find decent cloth diapers. We bought them at babies r us w/ my first baby and used them as burp clohtes - they work awesome for this by the way. I just don't see how they would work as regular diapers though. especially for those "explosive" times. :) Thanks for any info!

The ones at Babies R Us and other retail stores seem to only be the cotton blends (not 100% cotton), which is great for burp cloths but not so great as actual diapers.

We are getting our diapers online from Green Mountain Diapers. We're going to try the cloth-eez. I hear good things about Fuzzi-Buns too.

There are reviews and other information at diaperpin.com

Disposable here, I have enough trouble keeping up with regular laundry for 4 (soon to be 6) people, I don't need the added bonus of keeping up with diaper's too! :p

I've also read that altho cloth "seem" to be more environmentally friendly, it's actually just as detrimental to the environment having to wash them all the time, so they kind of balance each other out that way :)

I think we are going to use disposable, i toyed with the idea of cloth but my husband hates the whole idea. My parents had twins and tried the cloth diapers and it was a terrible pain in the a** ,that being said, they also were not these fancy cloth diapers they were the cotton ones like you would get at BRU.

Depends where you live. If you're in a dry climate where water is at a premium, then disposables may make more environmental sense. If you're in a wetter climate without water shortages, cloth is an environmentally friendly option.

I toyed with the idea of cloth for my DS and even bought a bunch of dipes, diaper sprayer the whole nine yards. Yeah it didn't work out, but I do keep a couple on hand because they are so adorable. A great site for anyone looking to get a ton of info on cloth diapering and where and how to buy them check out diaperswappers.com. Awesome website with a ton of info and also every cloth diaper imaginable.

I thought about cloth to save money when I had my twins. I couldn't keep up with the laundry. It was disposable all the way after the second week!!!

We are planning on using cloth. I think at first we will use prefolds and covers but eventually I would like to use more pocket diapers. I bought several types, mostly from Nicki's Diapers . So far everything I've received has been great.
