We are a disposable family but I am in need of a black diaper cover for my almost 8 month old son to wear in a picture.

Any suggestions on where I can find a cheap black cover. It doesnt need to be leak proof or anything as he will wear it over a dispoable.

    Thanks so much!

Happy Heiny does a solid black, but they aren't exactly cheap.

This is uber cute if you wanna do something like this..Starbunz

Fuzzi Bunz used to have one but they have done some restyling and I don't seem to see the solid black anymore.

Those are so cute.................... I definately need all black and I cant spend a fortune. Maybe I can make one cheaply. I cannot imagine where I will find the time though. :)

    Thanks so much!

Can you find a black sweater at a discount shop? Like Goodwill?

For sure. :) That might make it easier.

If you can do that, then I can walk you through making a butt sweater out of it. Try to find a wool one if at all possible.

Don't feel guilty about it! I've actually read that cloth vs. disposable is a wash environmentally speaking. Disposables are manufactured, made of plastic and all kinds of chemicals, have to be shipped to stores and then driven to your house, and wind up in a landfill - but cloth diapers are made from cotton (which takes a ton of water to grow), still have to be manufactured and shipped, and you're still using water and electricity to wash and dry them, plus whatever chemicals your detergent is made of (and detergent has to be shipped too), and there's extra wear and tear on your washer and dryer, which means you'll need to replace them sooner... Long story short, everything has an environmental footprint, and it is way confusing to figure out what's better! I just use cloth because of the $$$, and I just like them.

What's the picture that you need a black cover for? Goth babies? Biker babies?

I'm curious, too....what's his outfit going to be that you need a black diaper cover? I can't wait to see!

Just a thought...try to see if there are any clearance Halloween costume sites online. My friend's little one was a BEE for Halloween & had a solid black diaper cover for his costume. Might be worth investigating.....

Also, some portrait studios CARRY diaper covers. My SIL used one at JCPenney's not long ago, but it was white.

    Keep us posted!

How about taking one of Elizabeth's, from under a dress, and dying it black?

No goths or bikers here. We are anything but.

Actually I just got a sweet little tutu for Elizabeth and I was trying to come up with something for Thomas. I decided on a necktie and a black diaper cover. I think it will be cute and the Grandparents will love it.

Truthfully, I could not come up with anything else.

I know one day they will be like awwwwwww Mom can you take those down before our friends come over, but, I still think it will be cute and I can enjoy them for a few years.
