So who else is going through this right now? One of my girls wants to be with, ON me at all times. Then once she's on me she wants down, and then back up and then down, and then back up, but if I leave the room for 2 seconds it's a huge ordeal. She does the same thing with one of the care-givers at the playroom. She goes straight to Ms. Carolyn when I drop them off and demands to be picked up and Ms. Carolyn even has to bring Lily if she wants to get some coffee. Then when I go to pick them up she's still on Ms. Carolyn and doesn't want to come to me. Ms. Carolyn loves it, but that's b/c she only sees Lily for 90 minutes a day! It is driving me crazy! :gah: As I type this she is sitting on my lap, facing me, in between my face and my laptop.

I think it is a phase they go through Aimee. Both of mine go through on and off clingy phases. Typically they go between me, DH, my parents and their Aunt Lisa. It is frustrating but I have learned how to do things one handed since I have to hold a toddler sometimes to get things done. Hopefully they grow out of it quick!

Yep, mine are going through this too. And it seems like when one of them is particularly clingy one day the other will notice how much I'm holding his brother and suddenly decides that he would like to be clingy too! It is frustrating, isn't it? I'm sure it is a phase - my 5 year old doesn't want to be held anymore. But he does follow me all around the house!

My girls have been extremely clingy lately! However, I cannot hold them both 24/7 so I have made a point of finding them something else to do other than climb on mommy. I redirect them to puzzles, blocks, legos, whatever seems to hold their attention. It seems to work really well, and my back is very thankful I don't have to carry them around ALL day long.

Like Kyrstyn I try to redirect. Usually there is protest and tears, but if I get them engaged in something its short lived. For me clingy either means 1) sickness, 2) teeth, and/or 3) time to shuffle up their toys because they are bored.

I have one clingy girl as well, but I must be a rotten mother because I refuse to hold her all day! I will hug her and then put her back down to play.

Angelo is EXTREMELY clingy. He wants a persons attention at all times & unfortunately, his brother's won't do! He ALWAYS wants you to hold his hands & walk with him (almost there!) & gets so upset if you put him down. It's frustrating to say the least!

I'm right there with you with DD, she drives me insane at times, although she's been happier the last couple days...

    I've been there, too!

Jackson is my clingy one (and also a very noticeable 4 lbs heavier than his brother! ). He's been like that for as long as I can remember. Jacob loves to snuggle, but he's less neurotic about it. Unfortunately, Jacob gets jealous and wants to be held whenever Jackson is being held. It will pass eventually, and the snuggles are sweet. It's nice to be needed - when it starts to wear on me I try to remind myself that there will be days, before I know it, when they want nothing to do with me.

Royce is driving me bonkers with his clinginess. I can't do anything when I'm home because he's crying to be held or screaming that I put him down. Alice is getting in to more trouble because he's occupying my attention and there she is jumping out of the potted plants, hanging upside down by her ankles in the ceiling fan, ripping pages out of books, cleaning the tile floor with vaseline. . .
