Every day after the kids' nap for the past few days.....they are VERY fussy and clingy and just want to go outside.....if I take them in the car, they cry getting into the car cuz they want to go outside.....I made my garage into a playroom so they could play there (it's been raining for 3 days) but they want the door to open so they can go out so they cry and cry and cry and want to be held and cling to me....
I'm not sure what else to do....
Is this normal? They are 21 mo old...
    ugh
It makes me think they are sick but then after dinner and bath they are fine, running around like crazy wet dogs for at least an hour before bedtime.... (which is 7:30 and they eat at 5 and wake up from nap around 2:30). They sleep from about 12-2:30 and are up for the day around 5:30 or 6.
6:30 on a good day but that is also rare these days....(since the stupid time change).
    ugh

Mine are clingy and crying non-stop from the moment I get home (4-4:30) until they get in their chairs for dinner (no later then 5:30). I pretty much ignore their whining, as I only have 2 hands and need to use those to cook their dinner. I know mine are upset because they haven't seen me coupled with wanting to eat.

Right after nap, do you have them out running around, or do you have them sitting and still waking up? I know that mine like to spend some time after their nap just snuggling with me and when they are ready they start taking off, playing happily.

maybe they're hungry and need a snack after they wake up? What's their eating schedule like?

I was going to suggest the same thing. I noticed that when my son wakes up cranky and clingy from his nap, he needs a snack and then he is usually good. It's also difficult when they can't go outside due to the weather, we know why and they don't understand why

Mine are exactly like this from the time we get home (4:30pm) until dinner (around 5:30pm). I need to make dinner and settle down, so I usually give them something small to munch on and just try to keep them preoccupied. Then, after dinner, they are back to normal. You're not alone!

yep they have a snack available however it's a guessing game as to whether or not they'll eat what you have......:( and we do put on the tv and cuddle......

DS is like that just about every day after his nap...sometimes snacks, tv, toy distraction, etc.. do nothing and I just sort of have to wait it out. It's hard! But it does pass...:) Wish I have a more definite answer for you on how to make it easier :pardon:
