I don't have an answer for you but I was wondering the same thing. My kids aren't too rambunctious yet, but they are getting there. I wager we've got maybe three more months left with them, which is a pain b/c I figure they'll be wanting to throw food on the floor still, but will be in boosters and will have more places to throw the food. Uh-oh.

Can you strap them in? My girls are 2 1/2 and we are still using the high chairs. I let them climb in and out by themselves, now, but they have to wait for me to remove the tray. We don't strap them in anymore, but that's a sure fire way to keep them in.

I read that the time to get rid of them is when they are climbing out or fussing and fighting when you put them in. They say that that is the time to move them into booster seats or some other type of sitting arrangements.

my 3 big girls where in boster seats from about 2 1/2 years old. maybe they are bored, have you tried giving them soemthing to do whil you get yourself together? maybe you can hold them off for a few more months.

We just sold ours and the girls are almost 3. They would still sit in them once in a while, but really didn't care for it too much. I ended up getting them a little table of their own and set it beside our dining room table. Now, when we sit down to eat, they have their own table and they LOVE it. It was the best thing I could have done.

The girls used theirs until they were almost two. We kept them strapped into it. Then we moved them to booster seats but they were still strapped into those for a while too.

We had our eldest in the high chair until 2 and then switched to the booster. The twins however we switched about 2 months ago because I got sick of the space the chairs took up and cleaning them. The boosters are way easier to clean and take up much less room. The trays just fit under our table so now they put their sippy cups on the table and think they are really clever.

I too was wondering if you could strap them in? We never had highchairs, just a booster seat that straps to a chair, but there is a strap on it and with the tray too, there is no way they could climb out of it unless they removed the tray themselves.

My girls have been in the boosters strapped to the chairs from the beginning simply because I didn't have the space for 2 high chairs. I still strap them into the boosters. When they start taking their tray off, I assume the meal is over and end the meal.

My son used a high chair until he was about 2. I assume the girls will be close to the same. Of course, I don't know why I make that assumption because so far, NOTHING about the girls has been the same as how Gabe was as a baby and up.

Oh Man I have been struggling w/t he same thing. Anthony and Amelia have been clmibing out for about 3 weeks since we got home from vacations. I'm really big into arts and crafts and wanted them to stay in them for that sake that it is much easier to clean craft time up but my two who just turned two a week ago are climbers galore. they even climb out of thier cribs. UHG! I have been told my other Mom's in my twin Mum group thier is no easy answer..... so ifany one has got one Please fill me in. I've tried slowly intising them back in and sometimes they do go back in but they have to be reallllly reallllllly hungry before they do. OY! I did read an article that said it was ok for them at this point in time (2 yrs) to eat on my lap BUT NOT MY FOOD it has to be theirs??????? Guinevere MOmmy to crazy climbers Anthony and Amelis 8-11-05

I think Benjamin and Daniel were about 20 months or so when they stopped wanting to sit in their highchairs. I liked the booster seats much better...the hichairs took up so much room!

I strap my 2-1/2-year-old boys into booster seats and it works very well. I don't even strap them in most of the time. I have found that sitting with them at the table is key. If I sit with them and talk to them while they eat they will sit until they're done. As soon as they start fidgeting they are done and I let them get down. They've been really good about it and love having mommy or daddy (or both!) sit with them at the table.
