What do you use to clean your kiddos' toys? I was using sanitizing wipes, but I was wondering what others do. Oh, and do you do something different for the cloth ones?

I use the Clorox Everywhere on stuff that just needs to be wiped down. I put some of it in the dishwasher. The cloth stuff, I put in the washing machine.

ummmmm. I don't clean them. My babies haven't had a single cold yet at 9 months.

Really... germs don't live very long in a dry environment so I really don't worry about it. Plus, I'd rather have them be exposed to dirt & germs now while they're still nursing & I can help them with immunity. Also, exposure to dirt & germs now helps prevent allergies later.

Once a toy fell in the street and I washed it in the sink with some dish soap when I got home & let it air dry. That's it.

Is anyone else having trouble accessing the message boards? Sorry to tack this onto an unrelated topic...but I'm not able to see the message boards to post my own topic.

I've only cleaned them if they've gotten sick, spit up on them, brought out of the house and dropped in icky places or if others have shared toys and have been chewing on them. I use the CLorox Anywhere spray for most or just a good hot water and soap wash in the kitchen sink. I have heard to put stuffed ones in the freezer or dryer to kill bacteria.

Yes, you are not the only one. If you can see this, try this link, and follow the directions. Craig is working to try and solve the problem....

I put the plastic toys in warm, soapy water every day or two (my guys are only 5 months old so we don't have many toys and they all go in their mouths). Once we get more toys I'll doubt I'll do this as often.

I don't like to use disinfectants or anything chemical. I have switched to cleaning my house with vineger, bio soap, warm water and the odd non-toxic cleaning product.

I only clean them when they are bordering on scuzzy. There's a lot of talk out there lately that we are oversanitizing and creating "superbugs" that are stronger than any antiseptic. I just do what my mom did. Clean it when it looked dirty.

When I do clean them, I put the plastic stuff in the dishwasher (of course, of an appropriate size) and cloth stuff in the washing machine. Everything else, hot water and soap.

Our plastics go in the dishwasher, and the fuzzy, furry things go in the washer.

My girls have just learned that toys can go into your mouth :)

For those who put little fuzzy toys in the washing machine, do you put them in a lingerie bag or pillow case or just loose in the wash? There is a little frog in my living room that needs to be washed after a weekend full of 'kisses'! Thanks, Leighann
