Does anyone else have this problem with their sippie cups?
Paricularly, the gerber ones with two handles with the rubber no-spill top...
The mold gets stuck pretty well in there, and i'm not sure how to get it out...the old dishwasher isn't doing the trick!

    thanks!

I wish I had the answer. But no.
I had hear that once mold in in/on plastic that it never comes out. As soon as something plastic gets mold at our house, we toss it, no matter what it is.

I never had a problem with mold when I used those. I always stored the pieces (cups, lids, and valves) separately and I didn't assemble them until I was ready to use them. That way they would dry out completely after being washed. I think that if you store them with the lids on, you're more likely to get mold in them because of some remaining moisture. Other than that, I agree that once the mold is in there it's almost impossible to get out.

I JUST noticed this problem recently here too, the same cups! UGH, I would love to know what you can do. I have other cups that I liek too, but hate to throw them out. :(

Yuk! I would throw them out and get new ones and make sure you wash them right away and don't let that happen.
They could get really sick from mold...

    Ditto!!

I also use those Gerber sippies and do wash them in the dishwasher...just make sure you dry them a little better when you take them out of the dishwasher. I also store each of the pieces separately and don't put them together until I need to use them. I've never had a problem with mold as long as they are completely dry! Unfortunately, the only thing I think you can do now is to toss them and start over  . I do think I remember seeing the valve inserts (which seem to be the part prone to the mold) sold separately at BRU, definitely much cheaper than buying all new sippies. HTH :)

I use the Nuby one piece tops - the multi-piece tops gross me out. If they are moldy - throw them out. I found it almost impossible to clean & dry the ones with valves, so I don't use them.

Fill a big bowl with hot water and add a little bleach. Let the sippy cup soak. wash with hot soapy water and rinse. This works!

You can try soaking them in hot water with vinegar.

I wash all sippy cup pieces in water & bleach (combined) overnight every once in awhile!

I just did a major clean of all my sippy stoppers with q-tips. It worked really well!

We use the clorox anywhere hard surface and then run thru the dishwasher on sanitize

When I was watching my friend's nephew I washed out some of his sippies and found mold in the lids. I cleaned out the cups with hot water and a q-tip to get into the crevices. I also told my friend of what I found so she could look at the others and toss them if need be.
