It happens a lot actually. What you can do, if you're brave, is gently pull the skin loose. There will be crying and bleeding. Or, if you are like me, you can take him to the pedis office and have the doc do it!

THis happened to both our boys----at EVERY diaper change, I use both of my thumbs to pull the skin down around each little penis. It is still red and raw once I pull it down. Of course, it slides back up within seconds. The pedi said to just keep doing this.....

Trust me...make sure the adhesions dont stay adhered!!!!!!!! My first son had a crappy circ done...the Dr was an idiot and me and DH kept saying how it just didnt look right...the Drs blew us off....finally one day I went to change his diaper at close to 1 year old and his penis was the size of a nickel around and had a huge like ball on the side of it and was brght red ( all in an hour or so since the last diaper change...)...Off to the ER we went to find out some bacteria had snuck under where it had adhered but a pin hole had opened enough to let the bacteria in and it just built in there....NOT a happy baby ....trust me!!!!!! Finally just after he turned 2 the pediatric urologist decided to do a revision to his circums. to get it right so he wouldnt keep getting infections.
He was not a happy camper and had to be put out to have that revision done....With our twin boys , boy do I make sure everything is completely perfect * down there!!! *

This is very common. Be sure to gently pull back the skin at bath time each night and put vaseline on the tip to keep the skin from readhering. You should be able to see a bright red ring when you pull the skin back.

We have had that happen with our boys...I would let the ped do it, they are quick and know what they are doing! [IMG]

When does the red ring go away?

When my pedi wanted to pull my ds until it bled, I asked for a referral to a pediatric urologist - glad i did!! The urologist (Harvard Grad!) said that they have found over the last several years that making the boys bleed can actually make it worse because of the scarring. He recommended what the pp said - just gently pulling back at each diaper change. He said it may take awhile to be completly "normal" but not to worry. Have your ped look because every case is different, just be cautious.
    Good Luck!

One of my boys had that. I just did as the PP and gently pulled it back each change. All the sudden one day, it just popped free! It never bled, just took time.
