CIO Night One ....

So we laid them down for the night about 6:45, I told DH that we are starting CIO, so if they cry, we'll go in once to check on them and then that's it. So around 8, Chase started to cry, I let him cry for about 3 minutes (to see if he would just soothe himself back, but he didn't) and then went in, all his nuks got tossed on the floor so I put them in the crib, rubbed his back, and out I went ... he cried for maybe 6 minutes or so and went to sleep. Then one of then whimpered about 10 or so, again, I just waited it out and he put himself back to sleep! So I went to bed, bracing myself for the time when one would wake up screaming at me and I'd have to deal with it ... and turned off the monitor ...

And then I woke after 5am!!! Neither baby woke up!!! YAY!!! Maybe the "talk" I had with them about CIO and why I was doing it ("Mommy loves you guys, but you are big boys now and you can put yourselves back to sleep, and don't need to nurse at night anymore ...") worked! So then Chase woke at about 5:40 crying, I put him down and soothed him and walked out ... and he went back to sleep until 6:30!

Yee-Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I thought since they slept so much, they might stay up later this morning, but nope, they were ready for thier naps at 9 and are already asleep after being in their cribs about 5 minutes.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got 7 hours of sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on, world, I'm ready for ya!!!!!!!! :a_smil09: :a_smil09: :a_smil09:

They did great!!! They barely cried! It's such a huge accomplishment for them, to learn to fall asleep on their own and not needing to be nursed back to sleep. That has been our struggle and last night our little ones slept from 7pm until 530 this morning, which is huge! Great news for you this morning!

Now you'll find yourself waking before they do...I know it's taking my body some time to learn how to sleep for hours at a time....never until now in my whole life have I actually been happy to get out of bed at 7 am....(not a morning person in my past life)

Yes!! I am glad it is going as well for you and Stacy as it is for us!! Are you feeling a lil sad in the middle of the night now knowing you are done nursing at night? I know I am crazy and should be enjoying my sleep but I cant help but feel a lil tug at my heart that we are passing through yet another phaze! But all in all we needed this!!! Great job!!
