Would it be too confusing to let the boys CIO for their afternoon nap?
Right now they sleep 1 hour in a.m. and 1 hour in afternoon, I would like them to sleep longer in the afternoon and mornings I don't really care bc hopefully they will drop those soon. Not sure what to do? One day they took such crappy naps they actually went to bed at 430pm!!!! and slept til 615 the next morning!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure what you mean by letting them CIO for that nap. Since they are regularly sleeping already, do you mean letting them cry when they wake up after an hour, in hopes that they'll go back to sleep? I don't think there's too much harm in that (as long as you don't let them cry for a long time -- "long time" means different things to different people, but I'd say more than 15 minutes for real wailing or 30-40 minutes for fussing). But I have to say that it never worked for me -- once they woke up from a nap, they were up.

10 months is also pretty early to give up the morning nap. Mine were forced to give it up at daycare at 13 months, but they were super-tired, and kept two naps on weekends until 16 months.

I think if they sleep less than one hour in the afternoon, I would encourage them to go back to sleep either by letting them cry or going in to see if you can soothe them.

We went to one nap at 14/15 months.

I agree with this. This is what I would have to do with DS when he would take brief naps in the PM. Mine did not transition to one nap until 15-16 months. Good luck!

I also agree. We dropped to one nap at 14 months.

I totally agree with Rachel too. My two had dropped to one nap by around 14 months and if they woke before an hour I would leave them in the crib to fuss/cry until that hour was up or they fell back to sleep whichever came first.

Thanks:) I should clarify that I dont expect them to drop the a.m. nap soon just that I don't really care if they take a short nap (30 mins or so) as long as they sleep better in the afternoon.
