The playgroup I am with is going to Chuck E. Cheese this up coming week...they are trying to talk me into bringing the boys. Was told there is an area that is set up for toddlers they can play in. Well, they aren't really toddlers yet...I don't think LOL I have never been to Chuck E. Cheese...Would any of you take 9 month olds there? Is there an area for them, that is safe? Or are they too young? I don't want to drive all the way there and then have them miserable b/c they have to sit in their stroller.

If you going during the week it's not bad. Weekends though are insane and I wouldn't recommend it. We had my nephews birthday there one year (on a Saturday) and it was so so stressful with kids running everywhere. I didn't have kids then so maybe that's why...but even with kids I think I would have been stressed.

We started going just before the kids could walk, so around a year and for me it was too much of a bother. I agree with the PP stating that weekends are total chaos.

eta: Our Chuck E. Cheese was 'remodeled' since my twins were that age and there is no longer a 'contained' area for toddlers.

I wouldn't go there on the weekends at all and I'm not sure that I would take 9 month olds either. If you do, bring a stroller and hope that they are happy in it. The ones I have been too do have a little toddler area but 9 month olds are still too young to enjoy it, especially if they aren't walking.

I took my twins there about 6 weeks ago for a birthday party my son was invited to. Well, let's just say my son had a great time, but me and the girls experienced what I call "sensory overload". I don't do too well in crowded loud places with lights and children running everywhere... and after being in the stroller for about an hour my girls had had it. The one I went to did not have a toddler area I was comfortable letting my 10 months old in. In the toddler area were lots of ~3 year olds not paying attention, and I don't think I could have prevented my girls from being trampled in there. If you are merely going for a "playdate" and don't have older children that would enjoy it, I would not go.

My boys have been there a few times because my DD has had some playdates/playgroups there (and she LOVES it there). There is nothing for the boys to do there... they end up in a stroller, or being carried (I have been lucky enough to go with friends who are usually willing to hold one of the babies). Even if AJ didn't have a life-threatening dairy allergy, I would not be setting them on that floor (or tunnels, ride-ons, etc) for a VERY long time. My friend's toddler once found a stray pizza crust under one of the machines and was gnawing on it by the time she got to him.

I probably wouldn't, but I have never been to one :p Think of the germs and right during the Holidays. I wouldn't chance them getting sick at a place like that (think diarrhea and coughs that last forever...). :( Sorry, buzz kill - I know!

It is on a weekday. My boys and the stroller...not the best combo. They only like being in the stroller when it is moving. Once the stroller stops, very unhappy babies. Thanks everyone for your words of wisdom :) Think we will skip going for now :)

Good choice Dianna! Ours doesnt have an area for smaller kids & I think my girls would have a panic attack at CC  !! It is SOoooooo noisy (and germy!). Sitting in their stroller there probably would make for some unhappy little ones.
I do like it for older kids & know that they have a great time!

I wouldn't take them. Granted I'm not a huge Chuck E. Cheese fan anyway, but I was just there for a birthday party and I don't know what pre-walking babies would do there, other than crawl around on the floor. There was sort of a young toddler area, but still mostly for (IMO) the 15-24 month range. And it wasn't enclosed. It would be really hard to keep track of 2 babies -- the lines of sight are not good and there would be tons of older kids running around.

I wouldnt go either with their lack of mobility (walking) and like Diane said..."germ factory."

I didnt take my kids to CEC until their 2nd bday. We took them again for their 3rd last weekend. We get free tokens for their birthday so we met some family and friends for a few hours of chat and play. They had a great time this time. 2 I think was too young b/c there was only a few things they could do so 9 months no way I would be taking them. When we went last weekend we got there at 945am and they started to get busy around 1130-12. The next day Brandon was sick.

if I were you i woudl say thanks but no thanks:)
