My girls are 19 months, I feel as if their is SO much to choose from, I really want interactive learning toys and I really want fun music things, they LOVE LOVE LOVE to dance..

what is the HOT item you are def. getting your twins, and what does their christmas list look like!??

I feel like this year will be lots more fun than last with the babies being older!!

I'm hoping we can get them one of the little Kitchens and maybe some sort of slide/gym thing for outside.

If your girls like music and dancing - maybe also get some Laurie Berkner (sp?) music - not sure if you are familiar with her music but it's great. My boys love her. We have a DVD and it's great.

We're getting the boys a table and chairs, but need ideas to tell grandma and grandpa!

I love the table and chairs idea! We are probably going to get them a sterring wheel/driving toy and some wooden pull toys and a shape sorter. Still undecided really, but we recently changed our minds about a rocking horse. I am too worried about little hands and feet getting crushed. I can just picture one baby on the horse and the other wanting to be right next to him and getting squished.

Let me tell you something about the chairs idea... I thought it was a good idea also, we went to Ikea for something else, and we said, ah, how cute, little chairs - we got them a pink one and a blue one... Well, they carry those things around everywhere and they use them to climb on other things.

Max is the worst, and Shera, since you have 2 boys, I am sure at least one of them would do stuff like this. For instance he brought his little chair next to the dinining table, he climbed on the small chair, then on the regular dining chair, then on the table, my dad saw him of him standing on the table, trying ot reach the chandelier... at 14 months - who knows what will he do at 3? Few days after that he figuerd how to climb on the big chair without using the little chair... Then the other day he brought the little chair next to the back of the couch and he climbed on that, then on the back of the couch and he flipped on the couch - he does that all the time now. Of course, Vanessa saw him and did it too. I am seriously considering bringing those chairs in my closet for a while until we can reason with them more... (WHEN :) ???)

Ack - now you're scaring me! I thought it would be great for them to have a little play area in the living room with a table just their height. Right now they mostly use the ottoman, which isn't all that big. Thanks for sharing your experience. I guess we could always take the chairs away if they became a problem.

If they dont have a chair to climb on, they will find something else ! they get quite creative when the want to be ;)

As for Christmas gifts, we are getting the girls a kitchen and a pink car garage. As one loves all older brothers toys.

Our girls are getting a kitchen with some fake food (awesome pack at Costco right now that's super cheap) and an easel with art supplies.

If your girls love to dance, maybe there is a little kids music player or something that they would like? Not sure if that exists but might be an idea...

My 19 month old girls have become OBSESSED with babies. So, they're getting two new babies, with individual doll umbrella strollers, and shared baby equipment (Graco room full of fun playset).

Also, they're getting cozy coupes (two, not shared) because they LOVE things with wheels.

We like these ideas because they require the girls to use their imagination to play. Last year, they got a lot of things that were "interactive" (push this and that lights up, touch that and you get a sound), and those toys got dropped pretty quickly. They much prefered things that every time they played with it, it could be a new game where something different could happen each time.

But you're right. This year is much more fun than last. There are way too many good choices.

I agree with the "interactive" toys losing their interests pretty fast. I find they like the toys that use their imagination much better. Mine are just over a year, but their big present is going to be cozy coupes. they will each get their own and we will be getting the ones with the attached trailers. I am excited for them as we will leave them in the basement for them to play with until it gets warmer outside.

 Monica! I know my guys would do the exact same thing! They're into climbing everything right now! They were trying to climb our TV chest so they could look out the window, so we bought two little wooden step stools to stand at the other window. Then they started climbing the kitchen chairs to get on top of the table. So now our kitchen table looks like this.

Our big gift this year is going to be their Cozy Coupes. I'm also looking for toys that require imagination this year. They have more than enough toys that light up and make noise at this point.

Haha Joanna, we did the same thing, we tied the chairs around the table with a rope too :), we just put 2 of these on each side of the rope so it's easier to put in and out, that rope will be there a while...

Our kids are getting Lil Quads Power wheels from my parents - not sure what they'll get from us yet. I am also more excited about their Christmas this year, compared to last year.

Oh my gosh, those are both hysterical! I never considered tying the chairs, but it makes sense!

My girls are OBSESSED with the Dinosaur books by Jane Yolen, so they're getting stuffed dinosaurs. They're also getting the most realistic toy keys I could find since they throw tantrums when they can't have mine.

From the grandparents and great-grandparents are bouncy horses, kid-sized club chairs (too bulky to move!), and a second push/ride bus so they'll stop fighting over the one we have.

Notice how I use Christmas to end tantrums and whining. It's a gift in itself. :D
