Ayone heard of taking a baby to the chiroprator to help with ear inections? My babies (17 months) have both had several ear infections over the last few months and it seems to be becoming a chronic problem for my son. Every time he gets a cold or runny nose he is ending up with a double ear infection. Several people have mentioned trying a chiropractor to help and I was wondering if anyone had any exerperience.

    Thanks,
    Rebecca

Chiropractic care can boost the immune system so this may be the reason, not to actually adjust the ears.

It helped my girls with Colic when they were babies.

Chiropractic care helps your overall well being... it's like gears in a clock...if one gear is off, then the rest of the clock is off... if your nervous system is not working properly, it effects all of the rest of you. I have been going to the Chiro for many years... all of my children have seen the chiro...it has really improved our immune defenses and just how we feel.

So potentially it could really help your babies with ear infections. It will help ward off sickness and they will feel better.

I've heard of Chiropractors being able to push up on the roof of their mouth to help with ear drainage. My son has chronic ear infections and I looked into this for him but couldn't find one that would do it. I only found ones that wanted to clear his energy or something like that. We've since put tubes in his ears, had 4 or 5 ear infections in each ear since then, but now seem to have it under control. Good luck to you.

My boys had several ear infections within a 2 month period. (5-6months old) I was so frustrated that I started looking for alternative treatments. I called around to see who was up to date on treating babies and I took them to the chiropractor. They have been going ever since. The have had maybe 2 ear infections in the last 3 years. I took my girls when they were 10 days old and they have been going for 18 months now and have never had an ear infection!! They have been sick maybe 3 times with runny noses and coughs. All of the kids go every 3 months just for regular adjustments. I am so glad that I took them there. I hear about so many kids needing tubes in their ears and I just wonder if it could have been prevented.

My whole family goes to a chiropractor, and yes, the adjustments do help with the ear infections as well as general immune system. My chiropractor says a lot of ear infections are viral and will clear up on there own. I only take mine into the dr as a last resort...I'll usually take them to my chiropractor first. My kids all get adjusted once a month. In the practice we go to there is a chiropractor who specializes in pediatric chiropracting (is that a word? ^_^ )...if you have one near you that might help the most. GL!

My husband is a chiropractor - he adjusts all five of my children and none of them have ever had an ear infection.

He has triplet patients who were about to (all three) get tubes and they have not had a single infection since seeing him.

Of course I highly recommend chiropractic care for ear infections. :)

I've never done it, but I've heard of people who have and would say it's probably worth considering.

Dairy allergies also can cause ear infections. Whenever my girls get dairy they get an ear infection. They don't get any if they stay dairy free. They have been tested and are severely allergic to dairy. Might be something to check into.

I am a Chiropractor - for 22 years now. I definitely recommend at least trying Chiropractic care before resorting to tubes. I have had several children as patients that were told they needed tubes. I treated them several times (kids respond very quickly) and their MD's were surprised that they didn't need tubes after all. I actually adjust their whole spine and their ears.

Of course I adjust my boys. They have never had an ear infection and have only had one slight cold just 3 weeks ago for the first time. We treated it naturally (of course) and they were completely over it in about 3 days.

One of my boys has had a problem with ear infections. Last year we were looking at the possibility of tubes. I took him to my chiropractor. Turns out he had a bone in his neck that we pushed way over to one side, pinching his eustachan tube shut so it couldn't drain. After 3-4 adjustments the bone was staying put where it should be & the recurring infection had healed. He has had only one infection since. Everytime he starts having cold symptoms (lots of snot & drainage) I take him in to get an adjustment.
I also get adjustments for my back. Last month I had an appt for my back. The day before the appt my ear had been hurting. The morning of the appt I was really dizzy. At the appt I was having a hard time with changing positions on the bed (laying down & standing up) because of the dizziness. I told my chiro. He asked if I was hearing okay. Well, no, everything was kind of echoey. He stretched my eustachan tubes. Within 10 minutes my ears were draining. The next day I felt fine.
