Hi all--I'm wondering what kind of childcare situations everyone has. We're both working full-time and have mom/mother-in-law watch the babies a couple of days a week. For the other two days, we had a nanny from Jan-May but she moved away. We are currently in a situation where we take the babies to a neighbor's place and she has two nannies for a total of four babies. It's been nice and I think the twins like it for the social aspect, change of scenery, etc. But, they've gotten sick repeatedly, they aren't napping that well (I think too much going on), both nannies don't always show up (they're sick, etc) so the other mom has filled in. Again, they are having fun (despite the napping) and everyone's great but we're wondering if we should go back to a personal nanny for the twins so they get a bit more one-on-one attention. We are also considering a daycare in the near future as well.

So, what's everyone else's situation look like and what do you like/dislike?

    Thanks!!

Well I have worked in day care off and on for YEARS and I can promise you if they are getting sick over nad over in a private home situation it will only get worse in day care, however that being said they will most likely be healthier school age kids because they will have built up an amunity to alot of things. as far as nanny at your house or theirs I am not sure. I guess its just what is more important to you one on one time or socialization time.

You're doing exactly what we did. MIL three days a week and a nanny that we shared with two other kids for the remaining two days a week. We absolutely loved it and intend to use a nanny again in the fall- maybe shared or maybe not. Really it depends on what we can find.

We have a nanny that comes to our home 4 days a week. It really works well for us. We don't have to wake earlier and pack the boys up to go somewhere. The cost is similar, maybe even a little less. We don't have family near us, so this has been x great option for us.
