I am wondering when the babies will be ready to try cheerios and apple rings. THey are 9 months and getting 4 top teeth now, they already have 2 bottom teeth. I have been giving them some texture in their food but am wondering if they are ready to move on. I am nervous about trying table foods. I tried a little pasta elbows and one baby did fine. The other stashed them a bit in his cheek but did get them down.

When did yours eat cheerios, apple rings, anything else??

We are getting ready for a trip and I am in need of easy foods that they can eat on a boat. Snacks, etc..

I started with Gerber puffs around 6-7 months old. I found that they dissolved a lot easier in their mouths and got them used to texture. I think we went to Cheerio's around 10 months or so.

I started with Gerber puffs at 6 months, Cheerios we started at 9 months. We have not tried apple rings yet. It was at 9 months that they started getting better with eating table foods.

We did the puffs at about 6 months as well. I waited to give Cheerios until they were almost 10 months old, it made me really nervous.

Our dr. had them on a very slow feeding schedule so we introduced Puffs around 7/8 months and they did great! Walmart (and a few other stores) carry a great cracker called Baby Mum Mums. They aren't messy, but dissolve easily. My boys loved them when they were teething. We did the Gerber Apple Wheels at 9/10 months.

I've been giving mine mum mum's for about a month and a half. I'm going to try the puffs here in a week [to give them some more flavor :) ]. As far as cheerios go, I was wondering the same thing as you. Mine only have the bottom two teeth and are slowly growing in the uppers. At what point it is okay to give them cheerios and not worry if they'll choke on them..?

I waited on Cheerios until 10/11 months. When we went to do an EI assessment at 8 months they tested the boys pincher skills by putting a Cheerio in their hand so the boys could grab it. I laughed and said, they have no idea what that is. To them, it's a yucky colored circle. Why would they want to pick that up?? At that point my boys weren't even eating puffs yet.

We started puffs around 6 months old, did wagon wheels around the same time because they could hold them and chew on them, cheerios around 8 months
