Checking in with my fellow new MoMs

Hey all. Haven't had much time to post lately (I'm sure you all can relate ;)) or even write up my birth story yet, but I just wanted to see how things are going for my other new MoMs. How are you and your DH/SO's and twins doing so far?

The 4 of us are doing pretty well, I think. EBFing didn't work out at all so we're doing mostly formula and some expressed breastmilk (I pump about 4 times a day), plus doing tandem nursing maybe once a day (lots of latch issues, even after seeing an LC). Long story there but it seemed the best solution for us, especially with my MS and needing to get sleep and avoid excessive stress since I'm off my meds right now and risk of an attack spikes at 2w pp (and stays high for the first 6 months, so I'm going to stop BFing altogether and go back on the meds before too long. Disappointing, but necessary.)

Yesterday was DH's first day back at work. He works from home part of the time, so yesterday was OK but today he's gone at meetings all day so it's my first day totally solo w/the boys. I've been on "solo duty" since 1 a.m. when he went to bed (he let me get 4.5 hrs of solid sleep before that, without which I'd be a wreck) and I am tired! The boys go back and forth between being in sync with each other (e.g. they both woke up to eat at 2:45 a.m. and 6:15) and being totally out of sync. Right now they're out of sync again but both sleeping at the same time at least, so I have a few minutes here. :) Will should be waking up any minute to eat again so I should probably go. Just wanted to see how you all are. :) And if the "less-new" MoMs have any tips or words of wisdom for me, feel free to share. :)

Glad to hear everyone is doing well!! TS does have a buddy club for Fall '08/Winter '09 Babies, Here is the link. It is nice to be able to chat with other mommies going through the same things you are!

Sounds like it's going great and congrats on the babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess I'm one of not so new Moms, (mine are almost 6 months), it's crazy how it flies.. looking back I kind of wish I would have just been more relaxed in the begining so I would have been able to enjoy - (kind of how you sound - you sound amazing)! So enjoy these first few weeks.. they really do fly.

It sounds like you're doing great! I would suggest getting the babies to eat at the same time so they are on the same schedule. You'll get more sleep this way! Keep up the good work!

You do sound great! And like a pp said, having the babies eat at the same time as much as possible helps a lot. They are still so young....I'm sure if you keep trying to keep feedings together, they will be in sync almost every feeding. That really was a life saver for us. Also, like another pp said, this stage flies by so quickly! Try to enjoy it in between the sleepless days/nights and endless pooppy diapers. I miss it already. Congrats on your babies!

    Ditto the other PPs.

It does get easier with time. I had a rough time (don´t we all!) with my two for the first few months but now that´s all almost forgotten! As for routine, I let mine choose their own, so it´s personal preference, BUT I now have them on the same timetable and it is so much easier! :)

GL with going solo, I was always terrified as I didnt know who to tend to first! It sounds like you´re doing a great job though - well done! ;)
