changing sheets with crib tents???

Ok, so just got 2 Cozy II crib tents and the boys love them. They seem to think they are "special forts." But I'm a little concerned about the ease of changing crib sheets going forward. It seemed pretty hard to stuff the mattress into the crib once the crib tent was installed (we use bumpers as well -- both boys adore sleeping curled up against a bumper). I can't imagine it's going to be easy to change the crib sheets from here on out. Any tips? I change sheets weekly. Thanks!

I removed our bumpers when we installed the tents. I'm not even sure how you can have bumpers attached with the tent?

But anyway, since we don't have the bumpers anymore, I don't have a hard time just lifting the whole mattress out of the crib, changing the sheet and putting it back in. Easier than changing the sheet with the mattress in the crib, IMO.

You might consider getting rid of the bumpers? I thought my girls would freak, but they didn't. You could get them little pillows to snuggle with.

We dont have bumpers but we just take the mattress out, it is much easier.

Changing sheets with a crib tent is a pain. I had snap-on sheet savers that I washed every week; they cover the entire mattress and so I only changed sheets every few weeks. The sheet savers are at BRU - I don't remember if they're just called crib sheets or if they're called sheet savers, but they're full-size and they have snaps on all sides that you snap around the crib railings. I had them from the beginning because I hated changing crib sheets.

To save time for us to change their sheets we bought several of the ultimate crib sheet saver and a few of the waterproof sheets and I layer each of their cribs with a waterproof or crib sheet saver and then their crib sheets. I have about 7 sets on each of their cribs so every week to a week and a half I would pull off the crib sheet and the waterproof layer and this will give me about a month to a month and half of easy sheet changing. When we are down to the last sheet I will then pull the mattress out and start the whole process. So far it's worked well, my ds new night ritual is to take off his two layers of pjs and diaper and pee in his crib and all I have to do is just pull of the top two layer. My dh laughs but whatever it takes to save some time. We still have our bumpers on our cribs.

I layer my sheets with waterproof pads and put 4-5 layers on each mattress. That way I only have to change the sheets (take the mattress out) about once a month. In between I just pull off the top layer. HTH [IMG]

Changing regular sheets can be a pain, and we have the full crib tent where you cannot use the snap-on type sheets. However, I found a wonderful sheets set I can highly recommend:

    QuickZip sheet set

You can buy additional zip-on tops for each set; other colors (gingham) are available. It's on sale right now at BabyCenter.

With our without crib tents, these sheets are very convenient.

Thanks for all of these wonderful ideas. I did not know about the zip crib sheets or the layered pads. I knew you girls would help me solve this problem! [IMG]
