Ty has been on enfamil gentlease since he came off breastmilk. As hes getting old I have a few different kinds of formula that I dont want to go to waste. For instance I have a can of Good Start, Similac and then regular enfamil. Am I ok to change his formula everytime he finishes a different can. I have 3 cans left?

Once I finally found something that worked for my kids(all 5 were refluxers/had milk issues ), I didn't change anything out of fear! That said though, at 9 months, he should be fine with a couple of changes. The Enfamil and Similac are basically the same, so if he does fine with one, he should do fine with the other.

If he's never had any real problems with formula, he will probably be fine with the changes, especially at his age.

Good to know.....I plan on sticking with gentlease but I have these cans that I would rather use then toss out or pass on. With Dh being laid off we have to save where we can so Im glad to hear I can use these.. Thanks so much!

I used the extra cans I had around to stretch out their regular formula at about 10 mos. I made the bottles about one third to one half of the new stuff in two thirds or a half of their normal stuff. Never had any issues at all. My main concern would be if they taste different then he goes on strike!

Good thinking! I only have 1 can of his regular stuff left right now though:( I dont know that he would go on strike hes to much of a little piggy but its possibly. I will remember this if I have extras again!

I had the same question, so I went ahead and asked my pediatrician. She said it's absolutely fine to change it, even go back and forth as long as they are all milk based, iron fortified and so on. That is how I changed from Enfamil to Good Start.
