    Hello,

My twins are 22 months. I can't believe that they will be two in a couple of months!!! My dd has had some major eating habit changes. She has become very picky. She will make faces and not even put foods that she has loved in her mouth (the faces are very cute if it weren't for the fact that she is not eating a lot). She will drink milk and diluted juice till the cows come home. She has also been waking up in the night and just kind of whining and whimpering but does not always wake up completely. She is also not napping much during the day. It is getting really frustrating and I am getting worried. I don't really want to call the dr unless I have to. Is this just a stage or should I really be worried? TIA

I think this is where mommy instincts really come out. It sounds like you think something may be wrong, if so then I would call the doctor. It doesn't hurt and if anything it will ease your mind to just know that it's a phase and she'll move on from it.
 sorry not much help huh lol.

Thank you, that does help. I didn't know if maybe I was overlooking something really obvious :FIFblush:.

I would call the doctor to be sure it isn't something else. It may be a phase, though. I would just keep offering her food and not make a big deal out of it. Hopefully, she'll start eating again soon. I get so stressed when mine don't eat. I try to tell myself that a healthy child will not starve themselves, but it's hard not to stress.

I agree, I would call the doctor just to make sure something else is not going on. If she checks out okay, maybe I would cut back on the juice and give her more water and that might help her appetite. Let us know how you make out!

Is she working on some molars, by chance? I know that my guys (especially Nate) go through major eating habit shifts (and some night waking) when they are teething. Otherwise, I know my ped has told me it is very typical for a toddler to start refusing foods they previously enjoyed. It's just part of being a toddler, frustrating as it is to the parents.

If she's consistently not eating, then I might call the ped to rule out illness.

That is a possibility, she has had her fingers in her mouth a lot. She will eat some things but not others and will sometimes eat almost as much as usual. I guess we are entering picky toddlerhood!!
