I have an 18 month old son who is wonderful but..... I had him at 35w4d. My water broke out of the blue and I had zero complications with his pregnancy. I failed the 1hr GT but passed the 3 hour one. What are my chances of twins coming early since my first one came so early with no issues??? I am so worried about that.

I would try not to worry. I know that is hard to do. Obviously there are things that make you more susceptible to PTL, bit no one really knows what their chances are. I had no PTL with my oldest DD and she was a week late and then my twins came early, so you just never know how any pregnancy is going to go. Just follow your drs. orders and take care of yourself.

I completely understand how you feel! With my first DS I had the easiest pregnancy ever, right up until my water broke at 27 weeks. He was born 3 weeks later at 30 weeks and then had to spend a very long 89 days in the NICU. As wonderful as the entire team in the NICU was, it is not a place I ever care to go back to. My second DS I carried to 39 weeks (with progesterone treatments) though. Overall, after going into PTL once your chances are greater for future occurences, but my doctors have also said that since my first PTL was completely unexplained that it was probably a fluke and that I have a very good chance of carrying these munchkins for a while. Just try not to worry to much, but make sure to talk to your dr.s about your concerns. I don't know if this is available to you, but I have recently been sent to a Multiple Clinic once a week (in addition to also seeing my peri once a week, and OB every 3 weeks) where they do more extensive monitoring for any signs of PTL. It's extremely reassuring to know on a weekly basis that my munchkins are doing great. Good Luck!

I would try not to worry about it every pregnancy is different . Take me for example my first son came at 35 weeks due to toxemia and he was sick due to my diabetes .. But I am pregnant with twins due in feb I still have diabetes but things are wonderful this time ..but still i am worried about them coming early as well ..

Both of my previous children were born premature. I was told by my MFM that there is a very high likelihood that the twins will be born early because of that. Now due to other medical conserns we know they could come very early but just the fact that I had a history of ptl put me at higher risk for another premie.
