Chair for nursing twins?

I need some sort of seating in the babies' room for nursing. I bought the EZ-2 Nurse Twin nursing pillow. It is rather large and does not fit in any of the rocking/recliner chairs we have. There is not room in our bedroom to breastfeed on our bed and I would have to go down to the main level of the house to use the couch. I really want a place in the babies' room that can be used for nursing when we are up there. Does anyone have a chair (rather than a couch or a bed) that they are able to successfully use to nurse twins? Can you post a picture or a link to a picture? My husband says there are no chairs in existence that will meet my requirements for this and I really think there must be something out there. Thanks for your help.

I think you'll need at least a loveseat for it. Being able to sit down with the pillow around you isn't the only problem - you have to be able to set down the babies, get the pillow around you, then reach over, pick them up, and put them on the pillow. When they're really little, it is possible (barely) to carry both at once, but they outgrow that really quickly. And if you were holding both, you wouldn't be able to get the pillow set up.

Maybe you could manage with one of those "chair and a half" deals? But I'm afraid you just might need a loveseat.

Good luck! Hope pregnancy isn't treating you too bad & you're feeling ok. :)

There is a company in California called Little Castle Inc. They have a web site and they make a "chair and a half" glider. It is 52 inches across( four feet four inches total). I am seriously considering it. It is pricey- but I am like you and do not want to have to go downstairs each time I nurse both babies with the EZ pillow. I think the pillow is approximately 24 inches in width. I loved the idea of a glider vs. a standard love seat. I am going to do some measuring to make sure I would fit with the pillow- but I am optimistic.

I also thought about the gliding chair and a half but we ended up just using a small futon in the nursery...works great. However, we're not really using the EZ 2 pillow anymore. We used it TONS in the beginning but about a month or so ago (when they started to be way more efficient) I found it was just easier to hold them in a 'V hold' for tandem nursing. I hope your pregnancy goes well! :)

I always have just used the love seat or the couch in the other room (upstairs vs downstairs). The bed was not a good option for me.

I can nurse using the EZ2 nurse pillow in my regular glider. It's actually really comfortable. the pillow sort of goes over the arms of the chair...not between...but I think it's the comfiest spot in the house.

Reyna, how do you manage to get the babies on the pillow? Does someone bring them to you? If there's a way to do it alone in a regular chair, I'd love to know about it! (I have an armchair that's much more comfortable than the couch where I nurse.)

Getting them on IS the tricky part! During the nigh DH will wake up with me and hand me the babies once I'm already set up. I can then nurse them and then get up by myself. When I'm by myself I strap the pillow on first, get one baby out of the crib with one arm, then the other and sit down. It's quite a production!

We got a rocker/recliner that has big pillow arms, and I can nurse the girls together on it with no problem. It looks like this:

I can't use the EZ2Nurse pillow on it, but I put one girl in cradle hold and one in football (her head is on the other's belly/legs) and the pillow arms support them well. I usually sit cross-legged in it for extra support beneath them. It's really very comfortable!
