    Hi Nicolina

Try not to worry yourself - this is very common for twin pregnancies - Is this your first pregnancy?

If you have had children before you are classified as having a multi-os and this can sit anywhere between 1-3 cm dilated with no signs of labour for a long time during pregnancy. There are plenty of women on board here who will calm your nerves and let you know their experiences.

I am 34 weeks and my cervix is 2 cm dilated and 75% effaced with no signs of labour....

You just have a lot more pressure on your cervix which forces it to dilate - You won't dilate fully without being in active labour and your brain sends the messages and releases oxytocin to assist in further dilation.

Hang in there - and Good Luck.

get your feet up and relax. I know it's easier said than done- but the reality is, the more you stress- the more your body is likely to respond with lovely things like contractions. so find a way to chill out. women can be dilated for ages and not have it go anywhere. if your dr/midwives/etc aren't worried, then you have reason to relax.

I know it's hard- so many things race through your head- but you've made it pretty far and that's terriffic. you're going to be okay.

    Hi Nicolina,

My cervix is about 1.7cm and 1 cm dilated. How far along are you? I'm on strict bedrest and meds every four hours. First off, you should definitely rest. If your doctors haven't suggested it yet, you should put yourself on modified bedrest and really take it easy for several hours every day. Track your contractions. If you are having more than 4 an hour (even the non-painful Braxton-Hicks ones) contact your doctor. Labor is a tricky thing and obstetrics is an inexact science. Just take it easy and don't overdo!! Good luck to you!

I think at 31 weeks that's really not a bad measurement. Are your doctors concerned? I'd just take it easy and keep your feet up as much as you can.

It sounds like you're doing a great job -- 31 weeks is a good milestone! Are you having boys or girls?

    Hello lisa,
i am now on 31 week and 've been in bedrest for 4 weeks now. Hopefully after week 32 I will be able to move a little bit. contractions are very rare - that's the only encouraging thing.

    How far along are you?
