With my previous pregnancies I've had cervix pains. Like every few days I would have a sharp pain. I figured just the stretching of the uteris pushing on it. Ok well this time I've had it a little more often. Figured it's two babies pushing on it going to grow twice as fast probably the same thing. But the last couple days I've felt it serveral times through out the day. Sharp shooting pains right through my cervix. Some really hurt. They never last long like 10 or 15 seconds. And my vaginal discharge has become thicker and kinda mucousy (sorry tmi I know). I've also started getting BH contractions the past week. I never felt them with my son. I have at least two or three a day minimum. I've stayed off my feet all day today but if I do get up (go to the bathroom, get another water) I feel the pain. I would call my doctor but after hours all their line says is if you are earlier than 20 weeks go to ER and after 20 weeks go to L and D otherwise call back when they are open. I would really hate to go to the hospital if it's nothing but I would also hate to have an incompetent cervix and end up miscarrying. What do you guys think did anyone else experience this? I've had no bleeding and slight pains in my abdomen but nothing that really hurts. I've felt some pressure and have started feeling like I need to pee all the time. Could a UTI cause cervix pain?

Wow, I can't believe that there isn't a nurse for you to talk to after hours! I got those pains a lot, especially when I went from laying down to standing up. My OB said it was because the babies would settle real low when I was lying down, and then stretch everything out when I stood up to fast, and with twins I have definitely felt them more than with my other pregnancies. My dr.s office rule of thumb is more than 6 contractions an hour and you call/go in. As for the discharge, could it be possible yeast infection. Both yeast infections and UTI's are much more common during pregnancy. I had a UTI with my first son, and thought I was miscarrying. I think there are OTC UTI tests you can by. Just keep resting and drinking lots of fluids. And really, if you are feeling uneasy it never hurts to go to the ER and get checked out. Take care!

Thanx. I got the ones when I get up to fast but this I can feel when I'm not doing anything and is a lot more often than before. I can now feel pressure on it constantly too. The last time I went to the ER for light bleeding at 8 weeks they treated me like I shouldn't be there the whole time and then when they discharged me the nurse said sorry it took so long but there is a pregnant woman with real problems not healthy like you. And made it seem like I should be dieing before I came back there. I just really don't want to blow it off as

You know what....go with your gut. If you feel you need to go in then go in. You do not need to justify or validate to any Dr. or nurse why you chose to come in. They get paid to be there and evaluate you. If it is nothing then they can tell you that but they should be professional about it. It is called bedside manner! It is also not good for you to be stressing about how you are feeling. So if it helps you relax to go in and have things checked then by all means do it. It is better to safe than sorry.
Best of luck to you and go with your gut.

PLEASE GO TO THE HOSPITAL and get checked out. I don't want to freak you out, but take it from a mom that had similar pains and discharge and ended up delivering her daughter at 24w. 1d. You would be best to get the cerclage now if that is what is needed. My son I got it at 22 weeks and total bedrest time was 16 weeks. My twins I got it at 13 weeks before any changes and no bedrest.

Make sure they do an u/s AND internal exam/transvaginal u/s (the nurse the day I went to the office lied to the doctor about checking me (she said I had too much fluid) so the doctor only did an u/s and sent me to the hospital 10 mins later I delivered my daughter.) My cervix was showing long and closed on the u/s. I found out about the lie from my doctor at my 6 week pp appt.

Good luck and keeping you in my thoughts.

I felt like I was being stabbed in the vagina everyday from 16 weeks until 38weeks 4 days! I agree that you should be checked, but I just wanted you to know it could just be the way it is from now until delivery.

 Unbelievable! That is their job!

I agree with others, go with your gut, always. Don't ever hesitate to make the phone call or trip to L/D. You have to look out for yourself and your babies!

That said, it sounds like the dreaded 'evil crotch pain', as we call it around here! I had it throughout my pregnancy.
