Cervix off to the side and T/V scan

Anyone ever had/heard of this? I had a LEEP procedure due to a pre-cancerous cervical condition about 12 years ago which is likely contributing to my cervix being off to one side (my right) rather than straight up and down. For now the doc at MFM practice is saying we'll just keep an eye on it and do a t/v scan at each appointment (I'm not exactly sure what this is but will have my first on on Wed). Anyone have any experience with this? Will check with doc, but am wondering if this will affect my chances of delivering vaginally.....

    Thanks!

a t/v scan in my experience was a *****-looking thing inserted into the vagina to get an image of ur cervix. it's painless & there wasn't much of a discomfort.

as for the cervix being off to ur right side i'm sorry i have no idea if u can deliver vaginally or not.

I have no idea about your particular situation but a good friend of mine had a LEEP procedure with a lot of cervical tissue removed and delivered vaginally about a year later, so it's certainly possible. Good luck!

it depends on what your cervix does as it gets closer to delivery time - most women's cervixes point towards their back. as they get closer to delivering though, all of those BH & prelabor contractions help to pull the cervix forward in preparation for delivery. as long as your cervix begins to shift closer to, you should be fine.

the other thing to be aware of is that if there's scar tissue on your cervix it may take longer to dilate - scar tissue isn't as stretchy as other tissue, although it can definitely get there given enough time. just know that if your pre-labor & early-labor seem to take a longer time than normal, that's possibly why. i would definitely have a chat with your doc about it next time you're in.

I had a LEEP 9 years ago and have had 2 children since then and my DR never said anything about the LEEP causing any issues or doing a TV scan. I would think that depending on the amount of tissue taken or scar tissue left it may cause problem... Please let us know what the scan is and what you find out. Good luck

I also have a tipped uterus. I think a lot of women do and most have no problem delivering.

T/V means trans-vaginal. They will probably do an ultrasound with a probe.
