cervix gettting shorter,i am on bad rest:(

    Hallo ladies!!!
    I am 23 weeks pregnant with identical girls.
    Today we went for US and my cervix is 2.2.Last week was 3.2,and week before that 2.6.
    They put me on complete bad rest,and they told me to come in Monday.If cervix getting shorter they will do cerlcage.
    Tell me do you have experience with shortening cervix,how danger is it?Do we have chance to make till 30 weeks?
    We are so scared and confused.Help me

    Yes, you have a chance to make it to 30wks. I know someone who just had triplets--she had a cerclage at 20 wks for a shortening cervix and was on bedrest for 15 weeks and had a c-section at 35wks and no NICU time, which is awesome. Many other women have made it to 36wks or more with bedrest. Some sadly do lose their babies early--around 18-23 wks- because of incompetent cervix, but it doesn't sound like you have that.
    I am on bedrest too because of my cervix. At 18wks, my cervix was 4.0 and at 22wks it was 2.9, so they put me on bedrest because of the big change and now at 24wks, it's 2.5. It is scary, but I'm just taking it a week at a time. I'm also on progesterone suppositories to help calm the uterus from contracting. I've talked to several other women who had a shorter cervix earlier on than I did and they carried to term.
    Try not to do anything you don't need to do, except go to the bathroom (if you're allowed). I hope you have help with food!

    Dear,thank you for your answer.In Monday I have US and they gonna check cervix again,I hope that will stay the same.
    My DH is my help :).
    We can do it !!!!

    I had a cerclage put in at 22 weeks and went on bedrest and my babies didn't come until 34 and a half weeks. They were in the NICU for 3 weeks just for feeding and growing and were otherwise healthy and still are!
