Cervical length Ultrasound

We went for a cervical lenght ultrasound today and we were so pleased with the results. My doctor said that the average cervical lenth is 2.5-3 cm and my cervix was 6 cm long! Even when I beared down so they could see how short during contractions it was at 5 cm. This was such good news to us because I was already at high risk for bed rest due to uterine didelphys so this just took my risk down real low! We are so encouraged.

Both boys are doing well - Michael (baby A) is head down and Jeremiah (baby B) is transverse - hopefully he will adjust to head down. It is so neat to see their personalities already! Michael in all over the ultrasounds have been very calm and laid back. He has been in the same position everytime and he is so chilled out. Jeremiah on the other hand is the opposite!!! He has never stayed still long enough for us to get a decent picture of him - he is always moving and very active. Even trying to hear his heartbeat she had to try several times because he kept moving! It is so neat! I go back every two weeks and get an ultrasound every other appointment - so I get to see them alot!!!

 

That is great news. Sounds like you will have a fairly uneventful pregnancy. Glad the babies are doing well.

Wow, that's an awesome length! Especially with a uterine anomoly. You have to be so relieved!

 

Wow that is great… I went to get mine checked yesterday… and it was 2.8 and when he pushed down to simulate a contraction it was 2.4… I’m on take it easy and start a vaginal rx for another 2 weeks because I had preterm labor with my son… your cervix is very impressive… wow never thought I would be saying that to another person :huh:

 

Congrats! I had a long cervix, and they stayed tucked up tight until 37 weeks. Actually, I had to have a c/s because my cervix was so long still and I had run out of space!

That is great news my cerivx started at 5 or 5.5 I can't remember and I had a pretty uneventful pregnancy. I was scheduled for induction and my Evan's water broke the day before, I was 39 weeks 2 days...GL!

that is awesome! and btw, my boys are doing the same thing--one's all over the place and the other is laid back and takin' it easy. so cute!
