Cash & Presley

My baby boy has been named Cash for about 5 months and I have loved the name the entire time. So I am not thinking of changing that but lately the name Brooklyn (what I had chosen for the girl) kind of irks me!
A month or so ago, I saw the name Presley and fell in love with it but rolled it off my shoulder because Cash and Presley is just a little too much rock n roll for me!
But a couple days ago my sister asked me what my favorite names were and I told her Cash & Presley. And she said well, then that is what you should name them- screw, what connotation it has. If you like it- you like it.

So what do you guys think? Cash for my baby boy and Presley for my baby girl???

My mom and sister have been scheming behind my back and have made the decision that my baby boy should be named Presley and my baby girl should be named Riley...hahaha...I love how excitted my family gets! (these are the first grandbabies!!!!)

 

I like Presley a lot better than Brooklyn. If someone wants to sit and think about it (then they dont have enough to do) it is a lot of rock and roll. So what!!!!!!!!!!!! Go for it.

I named the boys Brandon and Dylan. Names my mom actaully wanted to use 20 some years ago. When thye were in special care the questions already came. Did you get their names from 90210? I didnt understand... they they reminded me of the names of the people on the show and since then i have heard it a million more times. NO thats NOT why I choose the names I did. It gets old but I love their names and would never change then for the world. and I love the names you have picked out to. I say if you love then then who cares what others think. if its not the names they are going toi comment about it will be something else stupid.

 

regret is a terrible thing to live with. If you love them then that's what you should name them. You'll only have to answer questions from you kids one of these days and even then, well, it's ultimately your decision.
I think Cash and Presley are cute.

 

Since you're looking for opinions, here's mine.

I don't like androgynous sounding names. Seeing the name Presley, I would think it was for a boy, even without the Elvis connection. It doesn't sound at all feminine to me.

Somehow with b/g twins, it seems even more important to me that the names signify gender (even at almost 3, people often think my boy is a girl and my girl is a boy, just because Elliot has beautiful hair and Clarissa has almost no hair - at least the names help sort people out . . . although for a reason I don't really understand, I'm starting to hear of little girls named Elliot!)

But then again, I think people should name their children what they want (with a few exceptions based on stories I've heard).

If those are the names you like, then go with it. You don't want to name your baby something that is not your first choice just because her twin has a similar name. Sit on the idea for a while and see if it sticks with you. If it does, then it's right.

 

i am pregnant with twins right now and i think your names are awesome btw my son who will be 5 in april is named Daemian Mykal and people are always asking if i named him after that kid from the Omen which i didn't i just like the name so go with your heart and don't let anyone tell you your wrong.

I have to admit I've thought about the 90210 connection every time I've seen your boys' names. :FIFblush: They are both such nice strong names (which of course is why they chose them for the show!) that I can totally see wanting to use them despite the endless questions, probably mostly from women around my age.

To the OP, I always feel that with names you have to do what makes you happy, as long as it doesn't open your kids up to ridicule later. If you were thinking Cash and Carrie, I might have to say something, but if the worst someone says about your kids is that their names are "too rock'n'roll" I think you're doing just fine.

 

Oh,for the one who had Dameien Mykal, there was also a Michael Damian who played Danny on Y&R!!! LOL!

I have stolen my son's names from various places and am happy to say so!!

For my first son, I wanted the name Tye after I heard it on that cheesy Maid In Manhattan movie with JLo...it was her son's name...

For the twins, I wanted to use Aidan soooo badly after hearing it on Sex in the City...and Dylan was an old favorite from 90210!!
