If anyone is interested, I made a foam seat that you can attach to the back INSIDE of grocery style carts to seat a second child, so you can have one ride upfront in the basket like normal and one in the back facing you. I always had to shop with both my boys for the entire first year b/c my hubby was in Iraq. Once they outgrew their car carriers (6 months) - I was stuck with pushing a stroller and pulling a grocery cart or putting one in a carrier on my back and one in the seat because they were too little for most double seat carts. So, I made a seat that attaches securely to the inside back of the cart, and has adjustable waist straps and shoulder straps, all attaching with velcro. Really didn't use for long - maybe from 7 months to 13 months - after that, they didn't want any part of it. It does take away some of your space in the cart obviously, but it can definitely come in handy. Anyway, I'll send it free to anyone who might want it. Better with someone who can use it than in a bin in my garage. Just send me a message if interested. Here's a link to a photo of my boys and their two seats :)

No need to pay me, really. Looks like I'll be sending it just up the street anyway - I'm in Enterprise, AL :)

I'll look for your private message so I can get an address. Have to go the post office tomorrow anyway, so I can just send it then. Let me know :)

It looks so neat! You should make them and sell them on e-bay :D I know one would come in handy for me and I'm sure a lot of other moms could use them too.

I agree...are you accepting orders? :) I'd love something like that. Do you have a pattern for it (so I could try to make one if you don't start selling them soon!!)?

Yes, you have just started yourself a very enterprising business. Every twin mom I've ever met would buy that from you. Mine are a little old at 3 now, but jeez I wouldn't paid alot to have 1 of those!

there are other parent invented products here: maybe you could connect with them.

Man, I'm totally using your idea, if you don't mind. I sew, so I could probably rig one up. Do you mind?

Thanks everyone for your kind words and encouragement about making these seats to sell. The idea was born out of necessity, but they are kind of pain to make, so I've been looking for some new materials and I've been talking with a company about licensing options for production. So I guess you can say I'm working on it. We recently moved, so I've just started back at getting the materials I need together. I'll post again soon about progress and let you know if I'm selling these seats. Thanks so much.

    Great idea good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the popularity of twins these days I always wonder why all the supermarkets, targets, etc. don't make carts more avialable for
    twin parents.
