I can't believe they are almost 5 months old already!! Well, I just noticed today that their feet are almost sticking out of the end of the carseat. At what age/height/weight did you move the shoulder straps to the upper adjustment (i think most have a lower and upper slot for the straps) and remove the headrest? They still seem small to move the straps, but not sure what else to do because they are getting long. Any advice?

    Thanks!

We moved the straps up at about 3.5 months, when they seemed like they were uncomfortable for the babies, as far as the headrest, we got rid of ours at 2 months b/c it seemed to get in the way more than anything.

I also adjusted my straps at 3 months and removed the headrests a month ago because my DS sweats so easily he would scream in the car and now he does great. My DD doesn't care either way, she is so laid back.

The straps are supposed to come out from the back of the seat just over their shoulders, so if they're tall enough that the straps go over their shoulders and down their backs a little, it's time to move them.

I don't remember when we got rid of the headrests, but I think it was around 3 months.

When rear facing the straps need to be below the tops of their shoulders. When forward facing after 1 year and 20 lbs the straps need to be just above the shoulders.

That's indeed the correct answer. Just wanted to say that.

We moved our straps up for DS at 3 months and DD a couple weeks later. The head rest for both of them came out as soon as they had neck control.

I assume your kids are in a infant carrier and not a convertible right?
