A few weeks ago i started waking up with my wrist aching. At first i thought i was just sleeping on it wrong, but the pain started to get worse, and be there all the time. i was having trouble moving it in certain positions, and it felt swollen. i asked my MFM about it and he said it's another wonderful side effect of carrying twins. That the extra volume of blood swells the veins and arteries and pushes against the muscles and tissue and causes pain. But that it will go away after i deliver. <_<

    Anyone else get this?

I didn't get it but I've had friends that got it during pregnancy and it did go away after they delivered. I'm sorry you are in pain, did they say if you can take something for it? Maybe Tylenol?

Yep, I have had it for a few weeks. One thing that I find helps is to try to do some exercises throughout the day - just wiggling my fingers/ making a fist/ rotating my wrist. I even do it when I wake up to go to the bathroom in the middle of night. That's usually when my hands hurt the most - middle of the night and when I wake up.

Hi, I had tendonitis with my first pregnancy, and post partum I couldn't straighten my right thumb any longer. So weird. They said it was due to the relaxing of the bodies tendons, in preparation for birth. It still won't go all the way straight. I am hoping maybe this time it will reverse itself! LOL. Anyway, I have heard pregnancy induced carpal tunnel is not fun! Sorry you are experiencing that! Hope it gets better soon.

Yep-I got it with my singelton, not the Twinkles though. Ooooh, it hurts! Wear a hard brace during the day, and (after double cheking with your doc of course!) try rubbing arnica gel into your wrists a couple times a day. Also, if you can, sleep with your arms stretched above your head, or elevate them on pillows if possible. Tylenol and Cold compresses help (warm just brings more blood to the area, so use cold packs). I feel ya, girlfriend. It hurts! And it does go away, but my hands and arms still fall asleep really easily. It's a side effect that didn't go away totally, but it's not bothersome unless I'm sleeping funny or sitting funny.

Wait til ya get sciatica. There's big fun. Same pain as carpal tunnel only in your hips/butt cheeks. Yay! :D

I had it really bad on both sides while I was pregnant with the twins. It was so horrible! My fingers tingled a lot and waking up was always the worst.
But it did go away pretty soon after delivery!
