So who else is being kept up at night by both hands falling asleep? It's not as bad this time as it was when I was pg with my dd, but goodness! It's no fun! Just had to vent.

I bought the wrist splints for both hands. They seem to help. I only wear them at night. During the day my left hand doesn't bother me, but most of the fingers on my right hand are numb. I can't wear that splint all day, though! I keep assuring myself the doctor said it will go away within about 6 weeks after giving birth... I can't wait!

yeah...the splints are uncomfortable to me as well, so I have trouble even if i try to wear them at night. No win situation. With my dd, the carpal tunnel was pretty much gone right after delivery.

i know this may not be a correlation, but after i got the steroid shots, i stopped getting carpal tunnel. also, i stopped sleeping with my arm under the pillow, which was probably cutting off some blood flow.

I went to a Chiropracter who gave me these gloves that helped alot. They were black, fingerless. It's helped with the swelling (which is the cause). It took a couple wks post delivery for my hands to get back to normal.

I'm right there with you - AND my hand burns all day long (especially when I'm on the computer!). The splint doesn't do much for me - excep the velcro does a great job of grabbing all my sweaters and keeping me from putting on a pair of gloves.

Looking forward to it going away after delivery - i can't imagine living with this all the time and have a lot more compassion for those who do!

Oh my goodness, what DON'T we have more compassion for??? I feel so bad for people who are confined to bed, people in wheelchairs, people who have carpal tunnel, people with high blood pressure, people with bad hips, on and on and on. This pregnancy has come with so many little nuisances physically!

My husband has mild carpal tunnel and he tells me just to take ibuprofen, but that isn't allowed during pregnancy. I just try tylenol and warm baths (not that it helps, but I guess it takes my mind off it). I didn't bother buying the splints. I have this thing about stuff touching my wrists so I knew I couldn't deal with it.
