There are a million types of car seat protectors out there and before I exhaust myself looking thought I would check here first. We have leather seats so I am looking for something that obviously protects the seat from food/drink but also prevents dents in the leather. I will need them for infant seats and forward facing seats so latch compatible is a must. TIA

We just use towels to protect the leather seats in my car.

I would contact a carseat safety technician or call the carseat manufacturer. I've read that some seat protectors interfere with the safety of the carseat. Wish I could give you more info! Good luck! :)

We have leather seats as well. I have 2 different kinds. For my oldest DD, we have one that goes up the back of the seat and obviously on the bottom. For the twins, we have some we got at Wal-Mart that go just a little ways up the seat and on the bottom. I plan to replace them with the ones that go all the way up when we turn their seats around at age 2. Towels work well too.

I ditto a pp response. We had our car seats installed by whoever it is that is licensed-and they said do NOT put the car seat protectors under the car seat. It's more of a safety hazard in the sense it doesn't properly hold the carseat the way it is supposed to. They also said no to window shades, mirrors.... If someone is going to buy it-manufacturers are going to make it. It's a marketing ploy. We did to the mirrors. And for the window shades, we got the ones that stick on the window-vs the ones that roll down and have metal pieces-if there was an accident, etc.. That's their basis for saying no to the shades/mirrors. If there ever was an accident...But of course you do what you as a parent feel comfortable with.

We use old throw rugs or towels. Be careful about giving your kids food or drink while you are driving it is such a choking hazard unless someone is sitting right next to them.

We have the ones that go under the seat and up the back too. Like others have mentioned the cop who inspected our setup said they were a no-no (though he confessed that he used them in his own car as well.) Our car seat instruction manual also said not to use them.
