I have been a luker for awhile now. I am 25w 3d with twin boys. I was just wandering if anyone had any recommendations on car seats. I plan on using the snap and go stoller but can not seem to find a care seat that I like. Thanks in advance on any advice.

Welcome! I am all about the Graco snugrides. I used them for both my sons, and just bought 2 new ones for these two little monsters. I would definitely compare the different fabrics though, because they differ between different models of snugrides. I bought the Carmen and Platinum design because they seem softer and they have a boot cover and a peek a boo canopy. They cost a little more than other snug rides, but they are much nicer (I couldn't find a store that sold them so I had to order them online). The big advantage of the snug ride though is that you can buy extra bases and put them in a second vehicle, they fit in any car really easily, and they snap in and out really easily. Good luck!

The Graco Snugrides are awesome and you can often find them gently used on Craig's List, etc. I am all about buying used infant seats (from a reputable seller, of course) because they are used for SUCH a short time. My boys outgrew theirs at 7 months. I sold one on Craig's List and the people couldn't believe it had been used at all!

Just make sure to ask the exact date of purchase (most people register their seats with the manufacturer) and verify it was never in a car accident.

You'll almost definitely want to start with an infant carseat with twins. The infant carseats allow you to carry both babies at the same time, let you bundle up the kids while you're still inside, and let the babies continue sleeping when you remove them from the car. Since you were looking at the Snap N Go stroller, that is the kind of carseat you'll be getting.

Like the others, for our 4 kids we used the Graco Snugrides. They are rated well on safety, are pretty easy to install, easy to use, and are well-priced for their quality. We've always just gotten the version of the seat that is the cheapest and haven't worried about designs or fabric types. I know it is important to some people but my carseats didn't even match our Graco Double Stroller. :)

Our last 3 kids all grew out of their infant carseats based on height instead of weight. The twins were 6.5 and 7 months when we had to switch to convertibles and the our son was between 4-5 months. After that we went with the Britax Roundabouts and then the Sunshine Kids Radian 60.

Add we to the snugride fan club! :D We have one from my dd already and are borrowing one from one from our cousin for our second baby. I also don't get all the "stuff" I just get a cheaper one with a fabric I like. Best part, the fabric cover is removeable and washable!! Big bonus when baby gets sick!

We bought the Graco Snugrides, too. They were pretty easy to install and our babies should be riding in them in afew days! :) You should never buy carseats used unless you personally know the previous owner and the seats' history and even then, it's not the best bet. But I was able to get our Snugrides at BRU for $65 instead of the regular price of $99.99 by some creative coupon-stacking: The multiples discount (10% off), my registry completion coupon (another 10% off) plus I had a 15% off one item coupon and a 20% off one item coupon. So I got the seats for 62 and 68, respectively. (You can also get a cheaper version--Safari Sun or Tango in the Tongo--for $79.99 at Walmart, Target, or I think BRU and if at BRU you could still stack couponsand get them even cheaper.)

I disagree about buying used seats - I think it's fine. We sold one of our seats after the boys used it. It was in PERFECT condition - not even a scratch. All of the padding was removed, inspected, washed, and then put on again, I still had the manual, all of the strap covers, etc. The seat was well taken care of and was never in an accident of course. There is no reason that such a perfectly good seat should have gone to the landfill after 7 months of gentle use. That would be have an incredible waste. None of the moms or dads I know would be irresponsible enough to sell a seat that was unsafe because of an accident or because it was too old, and I think 99% of people are the same.

Welcome to Twinstuff! :welcome: I didn't use the double snap-no-go, but had the Graco snugride infant carriers and liked them. :good:

About used carseats, I would be fine using one (as long as it wasn't too old) from a family member that I trusted and knew it had not been in an accident. In fact I used a convertible carseat that my sister used for her DS. But I would never buy a used one from someone I did not know.

    Roxy, congrats on your pregnancy.

Before you make any decision, I suggest you visit THIS place. They have Techs that can better help you in making the right choice about what carseat to pick. Snugride is a great seat (I had two as well when my boys were infants) but today, there are many seats in the market with great ratings and prices!
