Im looking at convertable car seats. My head is spining!!!

    Those who have the Britax.....

Which one do you have and is it all its cracked up to be? ( lots of sales right now on them)

    Those who have others....

Which one do you have and what do you like about it?

    Thanks.

Right now at BRU I can get 25% off each car seat!

I have 3 of the Britax Marathons and I also have a couple of the Evenflo Triumph Advance. They are both great seats. IMO I would go with the Britax. They are going to last you longer. I wish I would have known then when my DD was born (2004) what I know now. The great thing about the Britax is they can stay in a 5 point harness to like 60lbs and to me that is important. When my DD turned 4 she could have gone right to a booster or just a plain seatbelt in the backseat. I dont think she was anywhere near ready for that. So for now, she is still in a 5 point harness and getting ready to turn 5. I would have bought the Marathon as the first convertible seat instead of being afraid of the price. Because we are now on our 3rd seat for her and could have easily spent less in the long run.

But, I do love the Evenflo's. They are a great seat for the price. They are easy to use and I love that I can adjust the straps up and down without having to remove the straps and cover. Best of luck on your decision.

We just got the Marathons for our girls off of AlbeeBaby's site (at a fantastic price!). When comparing them side by side with the Evenflo seats, I liked the Marathon for these reasons:

    1. The size. The seat itself is roomy and comfy, without being incredibly bulky in the car. The evenflo seat seemed... obese. :) We have a small VW Jetta, and the two Marathons fit RF and if I needed to, I could probably squeeze between them to ride. Would not happen w/ the Evenflos.

    2. Comfort. The babies seemed much more comfy in the Britax seats. The Britax shell has much more protective foam, and the cover has much thicker/sturdy padding. The base is also a bit higher, and so far the girls really like to look out the window when RF.

    3. Longevity. The seats are very well made and the shell is high, but most importantly, the shoulder strap max height and weight limit is much better than the Evenflo seat I was looking at.

    4. Cost. We got ours for $179 w/ no tax and no shipping. When you compare the cost of buying a regular convertable, a harnessed booster, and then a regular booster vs. just one seat: the Marathon that would last until they need a cheaper booster, it was the right decision for us.

At first, I wasn't really brand-conscious when looking at the carseats. I figured whatever was the cheapest and safest would do. But after comparing them and reading reviews, I was happy to go with the Marathons. Plus, they're really cute! :)

We have the Britax Boulevards - like the Marathon but with "wings" for side impact protection. I hated them rear facing (wished I'd bought the Marathons), but I love them front facing. I did a lot of research on the Britax seats, so I'm not helpful on the other seats.

I think I can do this on the Boulevards. There is like a turn knob thing that moves the top back of the seat up and down so you can move it up as they getting taller without uninstalling and rethreading - really nice feature.

We have the Marathon and just to give you some background why I swear by it- we were in a nasty accident on the highway- truck hit us, our car fishtailed, truck hit us again...our car was totalled- my daughter didn't somuch as have a bruise! She's now big enough for a booster, but still has another 25 lbs before she grows out of the Britax and she'll be in the Britax until she's 65.1 lbs!

    Hope this helps!

we got the britax marathon and i am really happy with my decision. all of stacya's points are right on.

if you can get them on sale, it is great, but i would have bought them even at full price. i have the tan crocodile print and it is really soft and comfy, plus it matches my car interior!

we were deciding between the britax and the evenflo triumph advance and they both looked like great seats, my biggest concern with the evenflo was that it looked like the tabs on the adjustable shoulder harness would dig into the neck and be uncomfortable, but i never actually put one of the babies in it, so that was just my impression....
