I know car seats have been discussed many times but I didn't really pay too much attention because I wasn't ready to purchase. Well, now is the time! We went to BRU and tried the girls in the Britax Marathon, Roundabout and Decathlon. I loved the Marathon (but is it too big), I liked the Roundabout but Emma seems to be very long and I'm afraid she will reach the top in no time and I was not a fan of the Decathlon. I know these seats are pricey but I want something safe and good.

Can I ask what others have, how much it cost you and why you decided on the particular seat? I am just sooo confused right now.

We have the Alpha Omega Elite. It cost $159.99 but you can usually find it on sale.

I bought the Graco Comfort Sport from Elite Car Seats. I think they were $130 with a 10% twin discount. I bought them because I couldn't fit any other two side by side in my truck. I researched on www.EliteCarSeats.com and www.Carseatdata.com. Try them in your car/truck before you buy. BRU will let you do it. But Elite gives you the discount, free ship and I think, no tax. Good luck. It wasn't easy for me either.

I also went to elitecarseats.com and got the marathons. Like pp said, no tax, discount and free shipping. The lady on the phone was also so nice when I called to place the order. You get to choose from more fabrics here then bru also. I am very happy with the marathons so far.

Thanks for your help. We want to try and get them by the end of the month. I think the girls are somewhere around 16-17 pounds and they are getting heavy in those carriers! :D

We got the Eddie BAuer 3-in-1 carseats. They take the babies up to #100 and go from rear facing, to forward facing, to booster seats. There are arm rests that can be lifted, cup holders that can be attached on the sides as well. They are very easy to install and also wash. The height adjustment is very easy, all you have to do is twist 2 handles and pull, no re-tethering of the straps! I wanted something that would take them to #100 so we wouldn't ahve to be buying car seat after car seat. The price is very reasonable unlike some that are expensive and only take them to #40.
We bought ours at Babies R Us, and if you buy 2 you get 10% off for having twins!!!

We have one Roundabout because it was on sale when I was pregnant and my SIL recommended them. (We would have bought two, but the store only had one in stock.) We have one Marathon because by the time we needed the carseats, it was clear that one of my twins was bigger than the other, so we figured we might as well have one seat with a higher weight/height limit. (As it turns out, this was probably not necessary, because she's down to 50th percentile now, but at 6 months she was at 90%!)

I don't think there's any safety reason to get one Britax rather than another, it's just a question of size (of the babies and of the seats!) and whether you like the features. Personally I find the Marathon annoying -- the straps are more complicated than on the Roundabout, and even though it's supposed to be more comfortable for the child, neither of mine seem to care.

As for why I bought Britax, it was mostly because I didn't want to have to do too much research. I'm sure other seats are good, but Britax seems to have the best reputation and get the best reviews, and it was easier not to think about it more than that.

Well, I went out today and bought the Roundabout for both girls. That one was always the front runner, and Alden's post convinced me to do it. :D

    Thanks for all your help!!

Did Elite car seats give you a 10% twin discount or did BRU? Thank you!!

I believe both give a twin discount and I have heard no shipping with Elite. I had $35 in coupons for BRU and they let me use all of them. So, with the coupons and twin discount I saved $79 on the two seats!!!!
