Ok, my girls are now 2 and are in the Graco Comfort Sport car seats. They were the only seats that I could find at the time that would fit next to each other (1 by the door and one in the middle) with room for my son's booster. They seem like they are getting too big for their seats and I want to bump them up to another seat. They were 2 on Oct. 2 and are 32 lbs and 36". :clapping:

I looked at the newer Graco and the newer Britax, that have a harness but go into boosters. I want something that they can use from now until they are done with car seats. BUT they have to be able to fit next to each other. We have a Toyota Sequoia and I usually have all three in one row and fold down the third row, or I have the girls in the middle and my son in one of the third row seats. The girls have to be next to each other, because the other seat where my son's booster is doesn't have a latch and neither does the third row. Can anyone help?

Look at the Graco Nautilus...it harnesses to 65 pounds, and then converts to a booster, and then even a back-less booster, when your girls are ready. I'm not sure how narrow it is compared to other seats, though....

One of the narrowest seats on the market is the Radian, which also harnesses to 65 pounds. It's easy to fit three across with it, and it also folds up to travel. BUT, it doesn't convert to a booster.

Those are the two I'd recommend, though! Check out the reviews on Amazon.

Look at the weight limits for Latch use... I'm pretty sure your girls are too heavy. Just a thought.

I thought the weight limits for Latch use were 48 pounds on most cars, and 40 pounds in Hondas...?

I never knew there was a weight limit on LATCH! Thanks for posting that, ladies! It makes perfect sense, but I never knew....

Radian 65 ... very narrow 5-point harnass seat. My oldest daughter is 95% for everything and she still has plenty of room to grow (high top slots and high weight limit). She was 43" and 43lbs at age 4 (well 3y11m). Most kids can stay in the seat until age 6 or so, smaller even longer. Then you could move them to a backless booster after that, at that age they should be fine.

Whatever you decide, do NOT put your children in a booster before age 4 AND 40lbs. It's not safe.

A lot of 3 in 1 seats have very low top slots and low weight limits so your girls would be in a booster before age 4.

Graco Nautilus is another great option worth looking into.

Thanks for everyone's input. I think I am going to BRU today to check out what they have.

As for the Latch weight limit, doesn't the Britax that goes up to 85 lbs, with a harnes, have the Latch? I have to look into it - I think the Car Seat Safety Data website has that info.

The only thing I didn't like about the Radian is that a lot of reviews said that it sits too upright and that when a child is sleeping in it, their head is all over the place. I would like something with an incline, since we are pretty rural and are in the car for long periods whenever we go anywhere!!

    Thanks again everyone!!

The carseat or booster may have the lower anchors for latch but you must check your vehicle manual to make sure of the lower anchors' weight limit of your particular vehicle...the carseat itself can use the latch if it comes with one. If you cannot find the information, it is best to assume the limit is 40lbs (for the child not the child plus the seat) for your vehicle latch system.

yup honda's only recommend using LATCH to install carseats up to 40 lbs. My question is 40 lbs the kid only or his stuff? Zach weighs almost 37 with light weight winter coat on and boots?
