I've been trying to figure out what arrangement of car seats would be best in our van, and am wondering if anyone has any suggestions? Here's the ideas I've come up with so far:
    1. The infant seat in the captain's chair behind me, one of the twins in the next captain's chair, and one twin in the very back. The major con with this idea is that I hate that the girls will be separated.
    2. Both older girls stay where they are now, in the captain's chairs, and the new baby in the very back. This makes me a bit nervous, but I also know there's not a whole lot I can do for an infant while we're driving?
    3. New baby in one captain chair, and both older girls in the very back. They would still be together, but I wouldn't be able to hand them things, talk to them as well, etc.
What do you guys think? Are there other options I'm not thinking of? Thank you!!

I don't have a van but I have third row crossover and I have the boys in the third row together...I can get easily get in and strap them in and I keep baby in the second row behind the passenger seat. The idea of me lugging the infant seat to the third row or buckling in rear facing from the third row was not a fun idea for me. However, I don't really interact with boys while driving, i.e., handing them stuff, etc so them being in the third row is not an issue for us.

Just thought I'd share what we do.

    Good luck!

I put the twins in the back row together and the baby behind me in the captain's chair. Can't reach them but it seems like the best way for us. I also have 2 older DDs to fit in!

I was wondering the same thing and this weekend just decided to move the seats. We did was the pps said, both boys in the back and the baby will be in the captain's seat behind the driver. I can fold down the empty captain seat to more easily get the boys strapped in. We also have a DVD player in the van which hasn't been used yet since they were in the captain's seats facing backwards. We put it on once for them in their new position and they loved it.

What I have heard is the safest for everyone involved is exactly how I have mine set up. Older kids in the back and baby in the middle. It does make it easier to haul kids around.
