Car Bottle Warmers?

I BF and FF right now. When we are out and I have to give my DS a bottle, he spits up WAY more if I shake the formula. When we are home, I make the formula ahead of time and put it in the fridge. It seems to settle better in his tummy if the air bubbles have settled.

We have to go to a church function on Sunday, which might end up being 2 hours long - it is 45 mins from our house, so I may have to give him a bottle...but how do I help him not spit up so much? I thought about bringing the formula already mixed, but then he would probably want it warmed up. Does anyone use the car bottle warmers? Just wondered if they were worth the money...

    Thanks!

I have used the munchkin car bottle warmer and it works fine for what it is. It's faster to run a bottle under hot water if you can though. This car warmer doesn't have an automatic off or a timer so you just leave it in until you feel it's warm enough. Another option might be to take a room temp bottle of water and the formula in one of those premeasured dispensers. You can find them at Wal Mart or Target for just a few dollars I think.

we have one and it takes like 30 minutes to heat up a bottle. and that's not a big bottle, either. if you can go inside and run some hot water in a cup and warm the bottle that way, it'll be a better use of your time and money.

car warmers, in my opinion, are only good for road trips if you know way in advance that you're approaching a rest stop and a feeding time.

I take a thermos full of hot water in the car. Works great where ever whenever.

I like the thermos of hot water idea, if water isn't available there. I didn't even know they made bottle warmers for the car. :pardon:

I too like the thermos idea, I'll have to remember that!

i got a car bottle warmer and have used it one time. i think it took almost 40 minutes to take the chill off of the bottle. [IMG]

i would probably do the thermos of water and then stir the formula in if shaking it up makes his tummy upset. or you can put a couple drops of mylicon in and that will kill the bubbles right away.
