    I'll make it quick.
Boys transitioning to one nap. It's day 3 right now. Today, Ezra did not sleep at all. Maybe he was overtired or something but he just wouldn't go down. Him being up woke up Elias who slept less than an hour. Their bedtime used to be at 7:00. Since they started skipping their afternoon nap, I've been putting them to bed at 6:30. They are totally tired right now. Should I put them to bed even earlier. I'm afraid both of messing up our schedule too much and also of them waking up at 5:00 (selfish of me but will also just mess their schedule up more).

    Ideas?
    BTDT?

    Thanks

Probably too late as it is 7pm here already, but when mine were transitioning and skipped a nap, I would put them to bed somewhat earlier, but not too, too early. (like 6pm instead of 6:30 or 6:30 instead of 7) They didn't wake up any earlier than normal, they just used the extra time to catch up from not taking a nap.

Hopefully the transition goes quick for you! :)

When Evan and James were going through this transition I put them down as early as 6 many evenings. It was temporary and they really needed the sleep. It didn't seem to cause them to wake up too much earlier (they wake up pretty early anyway to be honest - at that time I think it was around 6:15 and then we'd try to stall them until closer to 7:00 by giving them their soothers and telling them it was "still nigh nigh time"). Our naps weren't long enough at first either but now I get at least 2 hours out of each of them. Woo hoo! I love the one-nap day. We transitioned at 14 months too. Good luck!

What time are you putting them down for their single nap? We started at 11:30, then noon, and now we're at 12:30ish most days.

P.S. Come to the TPOMBA social on Monday night if you're around.

They sound a little over tired, I would go as early as you have to in order to preserve their rest! Good luck!

I'm in the figuring it all out stage also. Today is day one for us, they were able to stay awake until almost 11:00. They only slept about 1 1/2 hours-WAY to little for them. I put them down at 6:00 and they fell right asleep. We'll see if they sleep till their normal wake up time (6:30) tomorrow.

Symercat - how did it work for you? Elias woke up at 5:30 which sucked, Ezra at 6:00 which wasn't much better

CHJH - I really want to come! I'm working on finding a babysitter.
