Can this cause problems for the babies?

Last week I posted a question about what to do if ou are sick... Well, I have a really sore throat, and I had planned on calling the doctor Monday about it, but thought I felt a little better. Then Monday night around 5 or 6 I started feeoing really bad again, almost like the inside of my throat was swelling up... I again decided that I would call the doctor Tuesday. Then Tuesday morning I sort of just felt like I had the last remains of a cold.... Now it is 2:48 am and I feel terrible! I am having trouble swallowing, and my throat feels like it is swelling... I definately plan to call the doctoras soon s they open! Anyway, I started feeling like I was coming down with something on Wednesday last week and her it is Wednesday again... Is there any possiblity that this illness could be damaging in some way to the babies? My first thought is probably not, but I just need a little reassurance! I haven't had a fever or anything like that, just the sore throat and a little bit of a runny nose.

Also, this is my second pregnancy, and with my first I was NEVER sick. I am normally the person who gets everything going around but not with my daughter... This time around I have been sick twice alreay... Any chance it is because there are two, and they are draining more out of my body? Could this be a sign that I am not getting enough vitamins (I take a prenatal dailty, but no other supplements)? Just trying to avoid getting sick over an over!

I was sick with the flu for over a month (week 9 to 14) I had two lots of anti-biotics and i still wasn't well. I am of the opinion that our dear little bubs do drain our systems because under normal circumstances the flu that I had would have lasted 2 wks max. I dont think this has any lasting affects on their health, though ours seems to go down the chute. lol
Maybe you could gargle some salt water, sometimes that helps. Paracetamol maybe for the pain? It might help you sleep til you get to the docs.
Hope you are feeling better soon, feel for you coz I know how much being sick during pregnancy blows!!

:hug99: I feel for you...being sick while preggo is the pits. Smart to call your dr, never take a chance with the babies. Someone told me with twice the babies you are 2x more drained, immune system even weaker than with just one. I was sick more with the twins than my singleton.

    Good luck!!!
