My boys are 16lbs and I swear their little tushies are hanging out the sides of the size 3 Luv's diaper. The size 4 say's it is for 22-28lbs. Should I move them up to a size 4? Thankfully we have not had a poo'splosion yet. Thoughts?

I did find that with my daughter I really had to find the right brand of diaper for her shape. One brand might fit well while another is too small or too big. Play around with them a bit. I also found that once she was out of the N size, she did not spend much time in any of the other sizes until she reached size 5. Same with shoes - so if you are moving quickly through the sizes it just might be that their little tushies are fuller than the "usual" baby. Good luck. Only had one or two poo-splosions with my daughter and a few "pee-thrus" when the size of the diaper was too small.
    Good luck,
    Carol

My girls are about 18 pounds each (I think, it's been awhile since they were weighed) and they can wear a 3 or a 4. I put them in 3's during the day and 4's at night.

My dd is in size 3 Huggies and weighs 16 lb. Ds is in size 3 and weighs 20 lbs--Ds diapers are geeting a little tight, so I may have to go to size 4 soon, but dd will be in 3 for a while!!!

I moved DS to size 4 at 19lb, because he had a few leaks during the day and the straps were getting harder to close.

The weight that diapers say they are for are sooo off.

Just get what fits :) don't even trip on the weights they actually say they are for.

I've used the weights as a guideline, but my girls have always gone up before the package said they needed to do so. I think it varies by brand as well. We just had to try some to see what worked best.

Hi, I would not go by a weight, but by a how they fit. I would move them up to a size 4.

We moved to a size 4 last month and the boys weren't even 20lbs yet. Move when you're ready, not what the box says.

Ditto pps...move up sizes when the fit is off or when they start leaking. The sizes on the boxes can be wacky.

Mine fit in Luvs very well (other brands not so much) and wear a size 5 at 22lbs each. Go figure.

yep, us too. So, they were a little big, but...no more leaks!

My Sofie wears 4s to bed and she's 18-19lbs. She has these huge (and adorable!) thighs and could probably wear them during the day as well but I just cant bring myself to buy that many different diapers since Maia would never fit into them.

Funny but mine have been in size 4 diapers for a few months already - and they are not overly big on them. They are only 19lbs and about 17.5lbs - I just found that I didn't have any leaks once I moved them to size 4, so that is all they wear now! They are a bit big, but better a little too big then too small with leaks! I wouldn't worry about the weight limits listed on the diapers, I have never found them to be that reliable!

I never used the weight guide. I just went by fit. If they are a little small you can try them. We started and DD is only 17.4 lbs. They are a little big on her but size 3 just wasn't doing it for her. We fold over and she does fine!
