the past couple u/s they both have been head down can they still fip between now and delivery? I know singletons can but I didn't know if twins have enough room to do that? I'm hoping for a vaginal birth so I want them to stay head down...

Yes, they can flip. They can flip while you're in labor even.

Mine flip all the time even during u/s. My doctor told me the same thing Jenny said - flipping is common and can happen any time.

Ha...not only flip during labour but my twin B squeezed past her sister the day of labour and became twin A!!! ...not exactly sure how or when she managed that!!! Twin A was head down and lower, Twin B was transverse and breech most of the time!!

Mine were both head down up until a couple weeks ago, now my girl (Twin A) is as far down as she can possibly go (and I can feel her head when I walk...strange feeling!) and my boy (Twin B) is transverse. I'm 37 weeks 4 days, and I've been told that while Twin A isn't going anywhere (shes locked and loaded) Twin B can still move wherever.

So yes, definitely possible for them to keep moving! You wouldn't think so, but somehow they manage.

They *can* still move, but for most babies being head down is more comfy, especially as they get bigger and their heads get heavier. So you have good reason to hope they'll stay in position.

Around 32 weeks both of mine were head down and have stayed that way. I had an u/s on Mon. and they are still head down. Up until then baby b had always been breech. Baby a had mostly been head down, exept for a short time when she was breech as well.

Yes they can - and mine did. Between 28 and 30 weeks, baby A turned from head town to breech.... and I know EXACTLY when it happened. it was a very unpleasant feeling!

Baby B has been transverse this entire time. I don't anticipate her moving at all.

There is still hope! Mines have been head down since 28 weeks and have not changed positions. I am hoping they stay that way over the next three weeks.

Yes, they can flip. Baby girl moved to head down at around 33 weeks (she was sitting on her bottom before). She was transverse on Monday just gone and in 2 days had almost turned back head down again. We´ll see what she decides to do between now and Tuesday - my giving birth plan lies in her tiny hands! ;)

they can move all the way up to the very end... my baby B turned from Transverse to Breech after 38 weeks. Baby A never changed positions the entire pregnancy but B would be different at pretty much every U/S.

At only 26 weeks, they've got plenty of room to flip around. Even in the last few weeks of a full-term pregnancies, babies can flip. My twins were both head down at 36 weeks, but a week later, Baby B was head up. I delivered vaginally at 38 weeks and Sarah, despite being initially head up, flipped around after Allison's birth and delivered just fine.
