Can the babies movement feel like this?

O.k. I'm having the weirdest feelings, but they aren't what I imagined first baby movements to feel like. At first I thought maybe I was having BH contractions, because it seems like things are periodically tighter than normal (kind of stretching/pulling feelings) and I initially felt it mid belly below my belly button. But, it's not always in the same place. It feels like something is poking me from the inside, but it's not a quick jab, it last for a few seconds. Is this the babies moving? It seems like they would be too small to make the poking sensations last as long as they do. It's not the rolling or fluttery feelings I was expecting. What do you think?

It sounds like baby movement to me! at 13 weeks I ended up in the dr office with BH like pain that would not go away...the stretching/pulling tightness.....the babies were located just below my belly button....head to head...with their legs facing each of my sides......they were pushing off with their feet and HEAD BUTTING each other...over and over! non stop for a long time!

Report anything that just doesn't feel right to you to your Dr....

    Best of luck to you!

Mine felt like twinges at first and then the fluttery feeling and then the jabs. You are right about at the point to start feeling those first little flutters. Are you sure they arent BH contractions? I started having them right about 16 weeks. Pesky little things!!

:rotflmbo: That is so funny, even though I'm sure it didn't feel funny at the time.

When I first started feeling the babies, it hurt! It was like sharp little stings, not the nice little flutters everyone talks about. Now it's more thumps and bumps than stings.

Well, unfortunately the feelings I've been having the last week are not baby movement. They're contractions. My cervix is funneling and I've been admitted to the hospital for monitoring and medication. :( The medication has been helping the contractions and they'll do an u/s tomorrow morning to see if it is helping my cervix. I'm really hopeful we can get this under control.

On the plus side, the reason I came to the peri in the first place was to rule out a chromosomal problem. We learned that we have to healthy baby girls! So, now we just need to keep them in there as long as possible.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts. I'll keep you posted.

Beth, I am so glad that you contacted your Dr.! How scary for you. I went to L & D 3 times last week with contractions...they put me on Terbutaline...It did calm down the contractions.....Just follow Dr.'s orders....and you should be in a good position. I also spent a week back in Aug...that was my 15th-16th week. If you need someone to talk to feel free to PM me!

Hugs to you and your two little girls!!!
