I just took a normal amount of ibuprofen, but I think the only thing that's going to knock out this headache is more or a fioricet and 1)I don't have any with me and 2)I'd rather not for the girls sake.

But anyone know how much ibu is expressed into bm?

And I won't be nursing the girls again today until around 7pm...

Please help...I haven't had a migraine this bad since before I was pregnant.... :bad:

The first time I ever had ibuprofen it was still a prescription drug, and the dentist prescribed me 800 mg.

I have taken 800 mg many times since then (over a period of 25 yrs) and have never had problems. I do make sure I have food in my stomach when I take it.

After my c/s my dr told me I could take ibuprofen while bfing with no worries. I am unable to take narcotics, so that was my only pain relief after the surgery. My girls suffered no ill effects.

After my girls were born my Dr prescribed 600mg ibuprofen, and I was still on percocet...I was pumping for the girls, and the Dr's didn't seem to think it was a problem. I hope your headache feels better soon.

600mg IB is the max at one dose, up to four times a day MAX (total 2400mg)! It is safe to take when BFing, but usually Tylenol is recommended as a first choice. If you are really in trouble, take more up to the 600mg max and then take up to 1000mg Tylenol in 3 hours....just like you would alternate for your baby if you really needed to, like to control a fever.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks guys!

I've taken the 800mg (somewhat often over the course of years...) and was just worried about the amount getting into the bm. But I think I've got to at this point....before I throw up :(
