Can I give my 8 mt olds orange juice, ??

I was wondering if I can give my boys orange juice, diluted of course? Were all sick and I thought maybe that would help them out a little? THanks Misty

I give my girls orange juice with out pulp diluted since they were about that age. They drink lots of diffrent juices diluted. It couldn't hurt go ahead and try it is what I think

What kind of sick? Is it the flu, and you're trying to get them more fluids? If it's that, I would probably do just extra water. But if it's the Vit C you're after, I'm not sure. I think I read that citrus's can cause allergies, so I think they recommend waiting a little longer for those. If it's diluted, though, maybe it's ok? I'm not sure.

 

I'm pretty sure citrus is a no no right now. If they are sick, use WHITE GRAPE juice and dilute it!

 

We did not introduce juice until after they were one. Like Diane said though I think citrus(y) type juices are a no-no. Maybe ask your pediatrician.

 

Citrus is very acidic and hard on their stomachs.

The infant does not react with an immune response rather the infant reacts with either a gastrointestinal response or a dermatological response. Often times infants who are fed oranges prior to the age of 1 year old will break out in rashes around the mouth or bottom and possibly have tummy cramps.

 

Yes. I did... mine didn't like it though. They would spit it out.
