I'm really not sure, I don't have much experience with the coxsackie virus...I would say it's possible. But I would definitely call your doctor just to have them check you out too. Hope you are feeling better soon

My ped said no; most adults have had it as a child so they are immune. *However* DH and I both got sick (fevers, sore throats, malaise) a few days after our boys got their enterovirus (which was like Coxsackie). So I'd say yes it's entirely possible! But I highly doubt you could give it back to them. Call the ped to ask for sure though.

Get some rest, poor thing. I can tell you that DH and I got a much milder version than our boys had, so maybe you'll feel better quicker than your boys did!

Coxsackie is a virus. If you have had previous exposure, then you won't get it, but if you haven't been exposed before then you can definitely catch it from your kids. The good news is, it is a virus, which means that once you have had exposure you are immune. This means that your kiddos cannot catch it back off you, and you won't ever have to live through it again! My DD's had coxsackie a few months ago & while it was a pretty miserable experience I am actually glad they contracted it while they were pretty young. My neighbor's daughter caught it at age 5 and was infinitely more sick and miserable than my girls were.

Hang in there - you should start feeling better in a few days,& neither you nor your little ones will ever have to live through the experience again!

You shouldn't be able to give it back to them. My boys got it when they were 7 months old. Adults can get it if they haven’t had it but it is usually mild.

That being said I would get checked by the doctor. I had a fever, sore throat etc. a couple weeks ago. Strep Throat. The nurse practitioner said I was the 5th person she had diagnosed that day (walk in clinic on a Sunday). I hadn't had strep in years. Anyway it might be worth getting checked out by a doctor just to confirm what it is.

I had it a couple of years ago and it was terrible. I feel your pain! I think once you've had it I don't think you could give it back to them.

my DH has two sores inside his bottom lip. im wondering if my entire throat is coated in the little bumps. :( been on antibiotics for 2 days and it's doing nothing. a nurse told me today that high fevers like the ones i've been having are generally indicative of a virus; not something like strep.

I had sores all over my mouth and throat. My throat hurt A LOT and I overall did not feel good. I felt yucky for about a week, but the worst part was just a couple of days. I hope you feel better soon.
